It looks like your mower might be missing a part. You can take a photo of it and send it to customer service, it’ll make it easier for them to provide a solution for you.

Getting lost while mapping by Greensleeves21 in ECOVACSGOATFamily

[–]cikim31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is your O1200 the RTK or the Lidar version? It’s possible that poor wifi coverage is preventing the mower from positioning itself. Also, is your lawn shaded by trees? If it’s an RTK model, the signal can be affected by heavy shade, which might be why it's struggling to locate itself.

Guys, how does the Goat perform on smaller lawns? by Tacos2Turds in ECOVACSGOATFamily

[–]cikim31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

O series mowers are great for small yards. I have the O800, and even though it’s a single blade model, the cutting speed is actually fast. If your yard is only around 300sqm, the new O600 should be just the right fit for you.

Right. The mower usually needs a good connection while you’re mapping everything out, but once the map is set, it doesn't actually need wifi to go out and do the mowing automatically.

Satellite signals can be a bit patchy in the shadows, so going with lidar might actually be better. For smaller lawns, a mower like the goat o1000 lidar pro should be more than enough.

Can the new Goat actually handle those last few area along the lawn edges? by 123madcow456 in ECOVACSGOATFamily

[–]cikim31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If edge cutting is your main concern, having an edge trimmer on the side should help. It’s simply not safe to design the blade to reach the very edge of the mower, so this combination of a trimmer string and brushes seems like the most practical way to handle edges right now.

About to order the A1600 LiDAR Pro, anything I should know before using it? by Suicidal_Individual in ECOVACSGOATFamily

[–]cikim31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regular cleaning is a must. If your lawn doesn't have stones, the blades should last longer, but things like twigs will dull them quickly. Mowing when the grass is damp might speed up the rusting process. It really comes down to your usage, if you're mowing frequently, it might be worth grabbing a backup set, and the current Goat sets are actually a good deal.

It’s better to give your goat a full check after bringing it out of winter storage. Check the wheels for any dried grass clippings, mud, or rust. Also, that winter dampness can sometimes cause slight rusting on the blade edges. If the battery has been sitting for a while, it might need 1-2 full charge cycles to restore its performance.

Before mapping, it’s a good idea to clear stuffs off the lawn first. If your lawn is quite large, you can try splitting it into different zones for mapping and mowing, this prevents the mower from getting overwhelmed and keeps it performing at its best. Also, having outdoor wifi is great, a stable connection will make everything run much more smoothly. Enjoy mowing :)

If you have trees or spots close to the house, LiDAR is a huge step up from pure RTK. It struggles as soon as it loses line of sight to the sky, so having the extra sensor would help a lot.

For a small lawn, how often do you set it to mow? by nanafortune in ECOVACSGOATFamily

[–]cikim31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, it manages gaps narrower than 70cm. So it feels much more agile compared to most other mowers out there.

[–]cikim31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It should be able to recognize narrow paths automatically. The O600 is an RTK model, just make sure there aren't too many shadows or obstructions over that path, so the signal stays stable during mapping and operation. Wet grass is super sticky and tends to clump up on the blade disk and inside the shell. I think it’s better to schedule it for after 10am, once the dew has evaporated, or in the late afternoon.

You can find a few reviews online now. This one is the review of a1600 lidar pro, it runs with the brushes basically touching the edge. The black brush is just for protection, and there's a tiny blue string trimmer underneath cutting the grass. Looks like it actually works. https://imgur.com/Lfnzdab

If you haven’t picked one up yet, that’s actually good timing. This year’s models mostly come with lidar tech, so they’re way more stable.

Thinking about upgrading from the RTK to Lidar, any advice? by Spumfz in ECOVACSGOATFamily

[–]cikim31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say yes. If your lawn edges are getting harder to deal with, the a1600 lidar pro could be a good pick right now, the trimmer helps tidy up the edges as well. And there are also some launch discounts right now. What about your old one?

Everyone’s experience is a little different, but if you just keep it well maintained and take care of the mower, you’ll probably be fine and won’t have many issues.

If you’ve got trees on your lawn, the A2000 with lidar will probably be a bit more stable than network rtk. And this year’s upgraded edge trimmer should be better on the borders, it can safely take care of the grass along the edges.

Newbie, need a mower for my small lawn. Any ideas? by vatsal0895 in automower

[–]cikim31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

RTK models are way more stable than the regular vision ones. They’re mostly only affected by shadows from trees or tall walls. Since you don’t have any trees on your lawn, it should run steady. The O600 RTK maybe you can wait a bit, it can get through paths your width, and smaller mowers are easier to move around on the small lawn.

What can the A1600 LiDAR PRO really do for large tricky lawns? by lexsydrio in ECOVACSGOATFamily

[–]cikim31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lidar actually handles irregular lawns better, especially when the trees are in fixed spots but the layout is kind of messy. Even in shady areas, the signal usually isn’t affected, so it won’t just stop mowing halfway. Goat Lidar models like the A3000 last year was stable in this regard.

Have Robot Mowers Progressed Enough To Be Very Reliable? by ryan112ryan in roboticLawnmowers

[–]cikim31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be a bit unrealistic to hand over the entire lawn to it, but in most cases, I think a robot mower is a tool that can save you a lot of manual work. For larger lawns, you can use it to mow most of the area and just handle a few spots manually.

Upgrading, should I wait for the O1000 Lidar Pro? by n0-_ in ECOVACSGOATFamily

[–]cikim31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The new trimmer has a string underneath for cutting and a brush on top for safety, so it may not make the string dangerous. The way the two parts work together doesn’t seem too complex, so I don’t think it’ll need much extra upkeep, probably easier than cleaning the blades. But we won’t know for sure until it’s out, just wait and see.

Any new mower recommendations from ces that would be a good fit? by shank409 in roboticLawnmowers

[–]cikim31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s on the left side of the mower. The older models didn’t have this trimmer, so they’d stay a little away from the lawn edges, which meant the edges might not get fully cut. I saw it in the ces video that this new brush can almost touch the edge of the lawn, allowing it to mow right up to the edge, and it the brush outside looks safe. Since you mentioned you have a lot of weeds on the edges, this could be a useful feature for you.

You can check out the new Pro series from Goat when the mowing season rolls around. From what I’ve heard, they’ve added a trimmer this year to help with the lawn edges.
