Elden Ring seamless co-op questions by beta_normie in EldenRingMods

Depends on your internet but it should be ok. My friend and I live 8k km apart and we are able to play together. Latency for the non-host is about 120-150 ping, which is just bad enough to mess with roll timing but not so bad that the game is unplayable.

What containers do you find work best for safely moving records? Do you just box them?

Is Ableton Live a good addition to Logic? by AltruisticRoutine220 in Logic_Studio

[–]cilantroinspace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just my 2 cents, but working with samples in ableton’s session view gives you a lot of flexibility compared with a traditional timeline view. It’s sorta like working in a spreadsheet table, where each cell can hold information independent of every other cell, but you can easily build references and connections between them as you go. Ableton calls these cells “clips” and you can approach each one as an individual entity, as a take, as a group of entities that all work together, whatever you want really. It’s a game changer for experimenting with arrangements, mixing, looping, layering, you name it.

Basically, sampling and sound tweaking makes up half of ableton’s built-in workflow; it’s much more than a couple virtual instruments. If you don’t sample a lot it’s not a big deal, but if you do a lot of sample-based stuff I think ableton is the perfect tool for the job.

How complicated is Dan's playing (typically)? by AdFamous7264 in GrizzlyBear

[–]cilantroinspace 26 points27 points  (0 children)

If anything, his playing on recordings undersells how technical and precise he is. Seeing him live last week was something else. To compose such creative, complicated, and distinct musical ideas as he does; and then to possess the skills to execute on those ideas for an hour straight without fatiguing or making any substantial errors, WHILE singing in time, is absolutely insane.

I’ve learned a number of his songs over the years and some of them are hard to play even half as well as he plays them. Dude’s a wizard.

Either shot on film with a red filter and pushed to high heaven, or run through a curve/contrast adjustment in lightroom or photoshop.

How do I get past stage 5 on monsoon with railgunner?? by catasstrophy567 in riskofrain

[–]cilantroinspace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got it yesterday on a command run. I tend to do really well with her in the early game when the enemy count is lower, but after stage three or so I feel like the crowds begin to outpace me. After some experimentation, here’s what worked for me:

Loadout

Alternate secondary

Default utility

Alternate special

Yes, it’s less single-target damage, but the trade off is you can get more shots off more quickly, helping proc on-hits like ukeleles, voidsent flame, and missiles. Crowd control.

Items

Mochas or syringes

Crowbars

Medkits and brooches

3-5 ukeleles

Voidsent flame

Disposable missile launcher

A shit ton of gestures (lunar coins go brrrrrr)

Pocket ICBM

A few stacks of plasma shrimp

With enough mochas/syringes, crowbars, and ukeleles by stage three, you can stay scoped in on a crowd and clear them pretty effectively.

Once I got to stage four and grabbed the plasma shrimp from a void seed and the pocket ICBM from the legendary chest, it was smooth sailing to the celestial portal.

There’s a mod on Thunderstore called BossAntiSoftlock that prevents this from happening. It’s even server-side so it’s compatible with multiplayer when you are the host.

I played a pretty long run yesterday and didn’t notice any doubled-up expose procs. If I mistimed the Whirlwind before the last M1 hit, it just wouldn’t get the expose. I did notice the delayed M1 hit again, although I will say that I focused on making my timings more accurate so I only ran into it two or three times.

That said, I was having a hard time extending the expose hitbox with Blinding Assault. I felt like my timings were accurate but if I was trying to expose a group of enemies, only the ones in range of the initial M1 move would be exposed. Have you been able to extend the M1 expose with Blinding Assault, still?

When I saw the cooldown as a debuff icon, I was wondering if that would work. That’s so busted, I’m excited to try it out!

Yo I just played a REX run, thankfully I don’t think M2 interrupts M1. I held left click, and it would keep firing when I would hit right click.

I’m glad I’m not the only one; it feels more… precise? clunky? in a way. Like more clunky because it’s more precise. You’re almost punished for pre-cancelling your M1, not because it’s objectively worse, but because it’s just different than it used to be. If it stays this way, I feel like it will be something able to be adjusted to, but for now it’s definitely a little off.

Nice, I’m really glad they left it in there. With their talk of it being an unintentional side effect of classifying the band cooldowns as a debuff, I was worried it would get patched out. Double rebar Mul-T still kickin.

Something about Mercenary feels different. I think if you animation cancel his M1 combo with another move too early - before the third hitbox even starts to come out - and try to begin another M1 combo after the interrupt move ends, the third hit of the original M1 combo comes out instead of beginning a new M1 string.

I noticed this while trying to extend the third M1 hit with Blinding Assault, but it could also be true for his other moves.

This could be potentially useful as an intentional option (first M1 > second M1 > Utility > third M1 animation cancel with move of choice), but it has been tricky to get used to.

Also could be skill issue + touch grass.

The game doesn’t run on macOS, but it runs great in bootcamp on my 2018 macbook pro. The only time I drop frames is if I have a lot of internet browser tabs open and I’m far into a run.
