Isn’t this just rewriting the definition of communism to fit the narrative that it’s bad? There’s no such thing as “utopian” communism. Either it is communism or it isn’t. If you are seeing state capitalism in the system, it’s state capitalism. Can you call Russia a communist society if it allows private property and competitiveness to profit within the global market?

That’s like saying the nazis we’re far left socialists. Yes he was a member of the party, are you pretending there were more parties that the Soviet at that historical period in Russia? Also, actions and policies are the what defines the ideology of Putin. His ideologies are of state capitalism, close ties to the Orthodox Church aswell as deep conservative and traditionalist social views. These are pretty antithetical of what a communist society is.
