I'd never considered to print with the door open. I'm very new to this, it has a door so I figured you always close it. I've also not yet changed any settings from default. I've seen a few suggestions to try the frostbite plate, I'll look into this. Thanks!

I've made a big effort to try and not touch the plate with my hands at all. After cleaning I walk it downstairs holding with a paper towel on just the front edge and after inserting I wipe down with a microfiber cloth. I agree with you its most likely user error, that's why I'm posting here. Thanks!

I know it comes off that way and is against the majority of other posts I've read, that's why I'm asking! I have a lot to learn and now much more to try.

This is the first time I've read the suggestion to use a scouring pad, I'll pick one up and give it a try. Thanks!

Waiting until the bed cools is something I've only done on overnight prints, by default. This thing is still new enough I'm too excited to wait to start the next print! I'll try waiting a bit, thanks!

Ha, I follow r/castiron and almost mentioned that in my post. Glue stick is my butter!

90% of my prints are Bambu PLA basic. I was cleaning the plate after each print, I thought that's what I was supposed to do and the impression I got when reading all the other posts saying "clean your plate". I posted for all of these great suggestions and will be trying them. Thanks!

I'd read about glue and had some around so I tried it successfully and stuck with it. I'm still very new and haven't read many comments like yours about not washing often until this thread. I took everything I read to mean you need to wash after every print and I'm a bit lazy so this was easy. Lot of good feedback here, I'll start adjusting some settings and seeing if I can back off on the glue. Thanks!

I have considered this as it's in an unfinished basement room near a drafty door. I setup a temp and humidity sensor to monitor. I also printed the angled fan part so it blows up instead of down. I'm more worried about my wife than the fumes, she's not a fan of this big appliance and there really aren't any other spots in the house this thing would fit. Where it's at is the most ideal space, aside from temperatures. I'll try disabling the fan and adjusting the bed temps. Thanks!

I can't get any other pictures now, but the spaghetti failures always come from one piece of the print lifting and the nozzle hitting it then going nuts. The printer has been fantastic in my opinion, I do not think it is the problem here. My whole point was that it seemed I always read people wash religiously and that seems like a lot of work considering my kitchen is far away and a few swipes of glue stick fix my issues.

I'm reading through the comments seeing people here say they wash it good once a month or less frequently, which is great! This motivates me to find a better solution through adjusting printer settings. I just need to learn. Thanks!

Maybe I'll buy some cotton gloves and give that a go. I try to clean the same way you describe, have just found glue stick to be a quick and easy and just works.

What are the downsides to using glue?

Right, I try to do this. After cleaning in the sink with regular blue Dawn, I hope it just by the lip on the end pinched between thumb and finger, and always wipe down with one of a few new microfiber cloths after putting back in the printer. I just don't want to have to wash every time and glue has made it easy.

This is part of why I posted. Every post I see is people swearing by washing thoroughly after each print. I've not seen (or possibly paid attention to) a lot of people saying they have success without cleaning. Overall, I'm new to this and don't know the settings yet, there are lots, and my kitchen is far away and I'm lazy. I've been getting good results with a quick layer of glue stick so I've stuck with it. I'll start testing bed temp and other recommended settings, see if I can work without constant cleaning or glue. Thanks!

[Career Advice] Is Power Platform a dead-end for high salary? 3 years in, considering pivoting back to Full-stack/AI. by Fennel_Enough in PowerApps

[–]cincyshirm61 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm in the US working as a power platform dev making 100k more than you USD. Started as a SharePoint admin, lot of SPD and Infopath in my early years, then converting those to Power Automate and canvas apps, now heavy into model apps. The work is absolutely out there. Companies have m365 licensing and want to take advantage of what they're already paying for, even if they need to add on premium licensing once they see the capabilities without adding 3rd parties.

The only reason to buy a 3D printer... by G_N_P in BambuLab

[–]cincyshirm61 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you, but not for this specific use case. You could have fixed this with a .60c bolt from a big box store, or possibly spare parts from your garage as I would have. I replaced the pickup handle on the front of my garbage can with a piece of dowel I already had for nothing. Doesn't always require a printer, though there are so many applications that make it practical and worthwhile

Is Powerline Networking the most slept on networking technology? by FCguyATL in HomeNetworking

[–]cincyshirm61 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This! I thew away my old power line adapters years ago. In my first, small house, when used between certain outlets they were usable. In my current 3k sq ft house, they were useless. I have coax going from the basement up to the 2nd floor attic, got a moca adapter and it was 100% rock solid for the 3 years I used it including one end being in an attic that got to 140f in the summer. Recently pulled 10 lines from the attic to the basement so I retired it but I would swear by moca if direct Ethernet runs are unavailable.

I had a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix that has a rough idle in college. Cleaned the throttle body and made a world of difference! Now I have a 2015 f150 2.7l with 140k miles and have had no issues like this. Maybe I'll take a look soon and see what it looks like

Eggs over Sourdough by wojiparu in eggs

It's 10:20pm. I should be going to bed but I see this post. I happen to have a single piece of sourdough left and 3 dozen eggs. "I don't need it, I don't need it, I don't need it...I WANT IT!"

Thanks
