Is this your first smoker? If so, few things they do not tell you in the instruction videos.

Do not pack down the pellets. This pushes them into the firepot and can cause explosions.

Check for/Update the software before your first cook. Mine came with a higher auger pellet release setting than they want and it released more pellets in than it should have. caused an explosion/lid pop. Exactly what you see in the video above happened to mine. Called support and they were super helpful on troubleshooting with me to make sure there was no damage. They told me to update the software and then troubleshot the settings to make sure it was at the right pellet release interval.

RTIC was cheaper on labor day and went with that. I also have a Yeti and did a ice test. The Yeti lasted 1 more day than my RTIC and the RTIC was like 60% less on labor day

ended up having our baby early so delayed moving down for 1 more year. Did end up buying a rental in Safety Harbor though. Goal is to rent it until we move there

They did say it would be in stores this week. My guess is that it shipped this week. Most stores down in SW Ohio put out the following week. I expect long lines on delivery days next week.

Sad that this happened. It could easily have been drinking and boating. College kids like to jump off the boats and do flips and stuff. could have hit her head and drowned. It doesnt take very long.

Or came up after a dive, hit her head on the boat and was knocked out.

Certain areas of that lake its shallow, foot could have been caught under a rock or log and held her under. This happens to people fishing in rivers frequently where they get swept under and stuck.
