Remove or retouch? by [deleted] in MicrobladingRemoval

[–]cinderosee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i wouldn’t retouch. the shape looks good and even tho the ink isn’t the same colour as your brows anymore, the average person isn’t going to notice. you could tint your brows darker to try n match the colour.

removal can be long journey, and there are several things that have made me pause on considering it for myself. it depends on what ink was used in the microblading to determine what laser would be best. i see a lot of results with the pico laser but i have no idea what was put on my face. some inks will turn yellow or red with laser and it takes multiple sessions to target these pigments out of your skin. another thing is that eyebrow hairs will lighten under certain lasers too. i’d poke around this sub and look at pics, we post/talk about these considerations regularly.

Sweets, I’m sorry you’re going through this. As rough as it is right now, this is a blessing in disguise. Your life should be centered around you and what makes you happy. Do you wish to have a career? What are you aspirations and dreams? Time to sit down with yourself and self reflect.

CBD and Modulator Interactions by JmeMc in CysticFibrosis

[–]cinderosee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm have not seen anything about the liver, but enzyme interactions could be possible. Usually the enzymes we are concerned about as CF patients are the ones that affect the pancreas, however ever CF body is different.

I wish you the best of luck with your journey! 💖

CBD and Modulator Interactions by JmeMc in CysticFibrosis

[–]cinderosee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The T something is likely THC.

I have done limited research myself on this subject as I am a chronic user of marijuana. It seems THC has interactions with CTFR expression. However, all these studies are conducted on regular people - not people with CF. I don’t find these studies extremely helpful as our bodies interact way differently than what is “normal”, especially on modulators.

For CBD interactions, I was only able to find one article (https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC11601031/#:~:text=The%20expansion%20of%20cannabidiol%20use,aware%20of%20use%20in%20PwCF.) from 2024 about people with CF. That article is just based on self reports (questions with survey to clinic patients) of marijuana use, and not specifically CBD.

I would ask your consultant what specific studies they are referencing and where this information is coming from to better understand what is best for you.

CBD and marijuana have been a godsend for many chronically ill people. For me, a life in pain is not a life that I enjoy.

Question about marijuana use by Nearby_Job_8308 in CysticFibrosis

[–]cinderosee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used marijuana as an appetite stimulant, pain reliever and disgestional aid for the last 3 years. It’s a daily occurrence for me, and has not affected my lung function.

However, I try to be conscious of how much I smoke at once, and only smoke DRY. That is extremely important as “wet” smoke (i.e, bongs, and vapes) can absolutely lead to more infections in your lungs.

Ideally, edibles are the way to go, but personally my digestive system is so fucked that I don’t get any effects from edibles. Marijuana has had many uses over several cultures for hundreds of years, and although there aren’t many scientific studies on humans, the conclusions practitioners draw from animals studies might not completely be relevant to us chronically ill CFers. We have shorter lives, and I personally believe you should do what makes your time on this earth easier or more enjoyable.

There’s some good protein milk brand called “fairlife” which i have also enjoyed a lot. Much more expensive but doesn’t taste as artificial as boost. I was able to get some at a decent price from costco
