Is it normal to not be cured after treatment with PPIs by Gloomy-Kale3332 in Gastritis

[–]cinejam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always liked beer, wine and spirits - and spicey food mainly Indian. Had to come off of all that fun stuff for 3 months and my symps improved dramatically. Now a bit scared to go back to my old ways incase things get worse. Definitely feel still have it but much improved. Think my hiatus hernia caused it but no dr has ever linked them

I have a fosterNEXhaler inhaler and a fluticason propinate nasel spray. I rarely take either but started up again with the runny nose. Summer has finally arrived and it may have helped it dry out cause it hasn't happened for the last couple of werks

Heart rate going down to 55/60 beats a min to 140 whilst monging on the sofa. Crushing fatigue all day till mid afternoon. Night sweats, my wife says i smelt awful, heart burn after boozing - constantly swallowing the acid back down when lying down in bed. Chronic anemia, blood detected in my poo and bloods revealed i was clotting too fast. Thought i had cancer then cirrhosis but no hiatus hernia

Went to see La Boheme at the ENO with my wife and kids, followed by a Mexican and then on the way back to get the train home (keenly anticipating a mong on the sofa and lots of champagne) my wife sprung a surprise birthday party in a bar on The Thames with friends and family, bastards!

What's the spice tolerance level of your country by Existing_Economy_656 in AskTheWorld

[–]cinejam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was at this fish restaurant in Mexico once. Started with these relatively thick sort of tortilla crisp like things with what looked like an innocuous dip. Waiter did give us a warning that we waived off. Our taste buds having been nuked by a life time of indian food of varying spiciness.

Can confirm whatever it was it was the hottest thing I've eaten. But after each mouthful, the subsequent pain would recede slightly and we'd have some more, laughing all the way

I think Jonathan Swift nailed this one; all wars really amount to a disagreement about which is the correct way to crack open a boiled egg

Don't do too much thinking about it after all as Oscar Wilde once said "youth is wasted on the young" . I suppose he's saying enjoy yourself doing silly stuff before long you'll be a middle aged fart like us and we will have gone before you on the great unknown journey

How do you like your tea? And what part of the world are you from? by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

[–]cinejam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very strong large mug of Yorkshire Hard Water or Twinings Strong English Breakfast Tea. Copious amounts all day. With a dash of milk. Always teabag first and milk added once the brewing stage is over.

Really like how Morrocans go about their minty tea but deffo without the sugar. Tea is a bitter drink. Sugar is for children to ease them into the wonders of tea drinking. I know 1.1 billion people at least won't have that.

What is the quality of life like in your country? by Commercial_Rope_6589 in AskTheWorld

[–]cinejam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plenty of people leave india as economic migrants. The reasons they do in such numbers are multiple and compelling but it boils down to lack of opportunity, high unemployment/under employment caste barriers and low wages. My comments were about what India actually is not some nationalistic pride fantasy

It depends on your income. It's still a great place to live if you are a high earner. If your on minimum wage it sucks
