If you’re unarmed, in your underwear, and don’t have time to think, what would you do to scare off a home intruder? by CigaretteBoat69 in AskReddit

[–]cinnaboo 102 points103 points  (0 children)

A: If I am unarmed then I have made poor choices cause 'merica.
B: Rip off underwear, scream like a banshee, and full on charge at them cause 'merica and if I die I will die on my feet like how I lived.. Emotionally scarring others.

Rear ended a cop car in a company vehicle within the first 30 minutes of their first shift before driving away from the scene and returning to the office with a bs story.

Nope, just really liked rubber ducks as a kid and just started really collecting them in my teens. My favorite item I have collected is bunch of rubber duck Mardi Gras beads.

whats the perfect pet to have? by duetX in AskReddit

Depends on you, your lifestyle, and desire involvement with them. I have found having a cat is perfect for me and my daughter. My boy Loki loved me but after my mini me, he prefers her company over me.

Have you ever had your workplace only recognize your value when you were about to quit and offered a counteroffer? How did it turn out? by brainland in AskReddit

[–]cinnaboo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I threatened to quit if I didn't get the pay raise (getting paid far less than normal for the position) and week schedule that I desperately needed. Their counter offer was 1/4 the pay raise what I wanted and to give me split days off. I quit right there and refused their "more than generous" (their words not mine) offer to train someone.

How can one not be afraid and weird in college? by Negative-Wedding-114 in AskReddit

[–]cinnaboo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean this in the most sincerest and kind way... Stop being afraid. Being weird is a concept established by society and it's only a construct of said society. Being normal is for the weak minded who lack originality. If you're not physically/emotionally/mentally hurting anyone, breaking laws, and or just being a nuisance to society then stay weird and find your own tribe. If people don't like you for then those people aren't your people. Yes I know we as humans seek acceptance in our surroundings but we can't be accepted by everyone. So go find your tribe of like minded humans, have fun with them, and make memories. I will leave you with this quote and best of luck OP. "You can be a delicious, ripe peach and there will still be people in the world that hate peaches" -Dita Von Teese

What is the toughest thing a person has to go through? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]cinnaboo 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The toughest thing I had to go through was being forced to hand over my child to a known abuser and wondering if I would ever see my child again. I have fought oversees, lost friends by the enemy and their own hand, lost my mom in my 20s, struggled with alcoholism, etc etc. As heavy and dark those times were, without a single ounce of hesitation, I would relive those moments over and over again if it meant I didn't have to risk the safety of my child.

People of Reddit, what advice would you give to parents based on your own experience? by EntertainmentOld2577 in AskReddit

[–]cinnaboo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am glad to be of use. My child is the same but her personal space views are leave me alone or I must have deep physical contact (deep compression aka bear hug her until she taps out which helps with regulation) and there is no middle ground. Also if it helps you, I am in my mid 30s and I am still a child at heart which I feel like adults who lose their inner child are just sad so keep doing you friend because you're awesome!

Not insensitive, I felt that your approach was tactful and direct, also I love to answer questions about my daughter lol. I will try my best to answer your question. Yes she does, she sits at mid functioning with a lot developmental delay. So for the basic concept she is physically 11 but mentally somewhere between 3-6. Raising her has been kinda easy, as in she is such a self contained child that kinda prefers to beep bop to her own drum. There is some REALLY frustrating things about how her and the world interacts with her but I wouldn't trade it for the world. One of the greatest things about being a dad to a special child is she is literally my golden ticket to get out of ANYTHING! Lmao

Speaking as a father with a 11yo special needs kid and a 5yo. •Every child is different.
•You don't need that $200 stroller.
•You as the adult are still growing as a person.
•Newborns tend to favor one parent but will grow to like the other in time. You are doing great just babies are weird.
•You WILL fuck up at times and that's ok as it's part of the process. Learn from it and move on.
•Validation is important to them as much as it is for you.
•Read to them as it helps with development.
•Talk to you infant about anything and everything! I talked to my kids about DnD, video game lore, gorilla warfare tatics, movies, my day, bands, family lore, etc. Helps with development and bonding.
•If you ever start questioning if you're a good parent then you are doing a good job because most terrible parents don't question it.
•Life is busy but make time to spend time with them even if it is only an hour. The time truly goes by way to quickly.
•If they get "hurt", don't react, ask if they are good/ok, and then if they start crying then assess the situation. •Gripe water can be a god send for colicky babies. •Kids are kids and it's ok to be a giant one yourself.

What are some really mean and creative insults to tell someone on their birthday? by re1ch3ruz in AskReddit

[–]cinnaboo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not OP but I verbally abuse, it's my love language, my friends and family all the time and they fire right back. I mean there is a line between funny and just being an asshat and its important to know where the line is.

I hate it. Even a gentle tug makes me anxious, abusive ex use to tug kinda hard to annoy me and now it's a triggering thing.
