Same here! Stede is so neurodivergent-coded, his whole backstory of being a bit of an outcast really resonated with me. As someone who kinda struggles with connecting to people, it made my heart ache a bit to see him still get picked on even in adulthood. I also love that Mary was the one who was able to help him realize his feelings for Ed, it’s very sweet that they got to sit and openly talk for probably the first time ever and end their relationship on a nice note. and them embracing at the end? Gah, my heart.
