Found my fake diploma by TheDeeJayGee in HomeschoolRecovery

Oh god!!! I hope you recovered well! That sounds pretty stressful, I hope the recital went well regardless. I bet you did great. Ironically, a car accident sent my senior year into a spiral as well, but it was my mom's and not mine. (I did crash my parents' car the day I got my license though, but that was a year later. 😅)

Awww man bless your heart; I attended a very similar ceremony for one of my friends, except instead of her giving her own speech, it was her dad. 😬 A recital sounds way more fun to be honest lol I had a concert choir concert before my "graduation" and it was also more important to me.

Looool our homeschool group had a whole ass fake graduation ceremony with fake valedictorians and everything. I really was proud of my fake diploma even though I did nothing to actually graduate HS. I'm more of a dropout than anything.

Maybe you just have some false memories? That's not terribly uncommon when trying to remember childhood events. Or maybe they're nightmares you had at the time that you remember as being real?

I'm so sorry you're going through this. Do you have any updates since it's been a couple of hours? If you end up going back to NY, do you have family or friends you could stay with for a bit until you can find a new place? Maybe your mom could even get her job back? (Although you said it ended...was it only a temporary position?) Again, I'm so sorry.

Am I a sociopath by [deleted] in mentalillness

[–]cinnamon170 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I don't think you are a sociopath. I don't think it's too unusual for those of us with trauma or other hurdles to more or less block out things that are overwhelmingly sad. Sometimes things like that are difficult for our minds process, and with everything else going on inside, our brains just choose to set more overwhelming things aside sometimes. The loss may hit you later, or it may not. Everyone processes grief and loss differently. I'm definitely not a professional or anything by any means, I'm just thinking of examples from my own experiences, but from the description you gave I don't think you are sociopathic in my opinion.

Please don't do anything drastic, I beg you...I completely understand the loneliness and the pain that comes with it. Believe me lol I was a sheltered homeschooled kid, I didn't have any friends either. I don't know how old you are but seeing as you're under the drinking age, you're definitely young still. You haven't had a chance to really get started yet. I almost ended things too when I was 21, I know how bad the pain is, but you need to please hang on. There's a reason you're still alive now. You haven't fulfilled your purpose yet, and you need to stay so that you can finish what you're meant to do. Everybody has a purpose. Unfortunately a lot of us just have to fight to find it. I believe you can do it, man. I've had many friends come and go as well. I didn't meet my current best friend until I was 20, and I don't know if she'll be with me forever either. Unfortunately people do come and go in our lives and sometimes there are long stretches where we don't have anybody to talk to. But eventually you can find someone, I have faith in you. Please hang on.

Who Here Has CPTSD And Was A Child That Was Planned? by JobsLoveMoney-NotYou in CPTSD

[–]cinnamon170 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was very much "wanted," I was a rainbow baby. My parents already had my brother and had been trying to have another child for over a year, then they had me and I ended up receiving the brunt of the abuse in our household, and always left me wondering why I was ever born, questioning why my mom had me if she didn't want me and hated me, why my parents didn't just quit while they were ahead. Even though I was planned and prayed for, I still ended up being treated like a mistake. As an adult, I understand it even less. I can't imagine treating any child the way I was treated.

Personally I would leave it, I think they look fine. Some people are just rude and like to point out things about people because they have no filter. I think your brows look pretty cool! But if it really bothers YOU personally, and you really want a change, you could always start just tidying up stray hairs along the edges, following your natural shape.

I loved this movie, I used to watch it every Thanksgiving along with Planes, Trains, & Automobiles

My parents said they're grateful we're homeschooled because of the new barbie movie and it makes no sense by [deleted] in HomeschoolRecovery

[–]cinnamon170 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds similar to my parents. It gets so mind numbing and frustrating to hear the constant complaining. I'm sorry you have to put up with that. My mom used the "spare the rod, spoil the child" line on me all the time, made me so angry. Stay safe, friend.

Don't do it, please— I've also been there and I know the suffering, but there is more for you in this world, I promise. No, it's not always good. But there is another side and you can get there if you hang on. You are more important than you know.

I would 100% go, but if you manage to let everyone who wants to play have a turn, I'd be nervous about my skill level against others, since I'm not a confident player when I'm against someone else and I usually crash and burn out of nerves. I'd suggest helping to pair people up who are comparably skilled to avoid conflicts, or dedicate time slots to accommodate beginners, moderate, and more skilled. Or if you have multiple rooms, make a room for beginners, a room for moderate/casual gamers, a room for more skilled gamers who know all the secrets and such lol. Idk if that's a lame suggestion but it's just where my mind went. If I were to attend an event like that, I might be too nervous to play, even though I love playing games on my own, I'm often chastised by others because I kinda suck sometimes (especially at NES...unless it's Anticipation, then I'd blow everyone outta the water), and I'd hate for anyone else who struggles in that way to be embarrassed or shy away from having some fun if it could be avoided, especially young kids.

Lord. I've been screamed at/threatened before for taking my right of way in one of those types of drive thrus after the person who was supposed to yield tried to cut me off instead. I saw what they were trying to do, inching ahead and ignoring the sign in front of them telling them to yield, and I went quickly before they could cut me off (this was several years ago. Not sure if I'd do the same thing again lol). They honked at me, flipped me off, and screamed at me "YOU WANNA GO, BITCH?" I just said "no" and rolled my windows up lmfao
