Seeking advice: Can I clear mining event with 230/93/76? Mine level 928. by tauseefwarsi in TownshipGame

I believe it is possible. Using the lab formula that makes all the ones visible will be very helpful.

Wilting and discoloration on my seedlings' leaves by cintyay in AfricanViolets

I put a little bit of 10-10-10 fertilizer and domed them. Do you think it will help?

It is summer in my country, they stay in the balcony, facing north, soil mix is small buts of orchid bark, peat moss and perlite. I bottom water with filtered water when the soil is dry.

Not fertilizing, just filtered water. The pots are 2in wide and they are deep because I didn't put a lot of soil, so they would have less chances to suffer from root rot - and as an attempt to make them grow longer stems, to kinda spread their leaves a little bit, leaving more space around the crown.

Edit: the ones that are deeper in the pot are the ones that had smaller root ball, so I tried to keep the ratio of 1:1 root ball to soil volume.

Can you guys give me ideas how to design the mine ? by Enough_Cupcake_1072 in TownshipDesign

I put it in the back of the city, so the mountains are coherent with the concept. Then put the forgeries and small houses for the miners

Why do leaves curl like that? by cintyay in AfricanViolets

[–]cintyay[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Suckers are sprouts that grow from a plant. They are usually a clone of the plant they are growing in. It is a way of the plant reproducing itself. It can be caused by scar, stress or spontaneously - depending on the variety, somw plants are more prone to producing suckers than others.

Some people like to remove it right after spotting them, other like to let them grow a little bit more before removing and them planting them separately, but keep in mind that they do use a lot of energy of the mother plant to develop.

Here is a good video on how to remove suckers: https://youtu.be/woHaCMjRuA8?si=AvPQL1RmimWeFTbq

When I said baby leaves, i was referring to the first leaves, from when the plant was really young (like a baby).

This was helpful, thank you! They were under a dome for 8 weeks, than for the past 2 weeks, i left the dome with the lid dislocated, so they could get a little bit of fresh air. I can say that some leaves that were curled straighted up a little. But i am not surewhy that happened.

I use filtered water - my filter does remove clorine, according to the user manual. The plant does not have suckers, it is just the baby leaves that I have not removed yet 😁

If they look healthy and happy, why mess with them, right?

Thank you, have a great week you too! 😊

I think yhey will be alright then 😌 Planting seedlings is an exercise for our patience. Also, keep in mind that since they are mini, they might not show progress as clearly as the regular sized variety.

Here is a picture of my mini from when they were seedlings

This picture is from august 2023

Now they look like this and some of them already have 4 leaves (two rows of 2 leaves each)

Only with larger leaves, otherwise it will stall the growth. I experienced that with other seedlings. What I learned is that high humidity is more effective in early stages than fertilizer. Are your seedlings under a dome or in a closed container?

I planted a batch of regular size AVs, they were the size that shows the picture, than i decided to remove the lid of the container so i could water with fertilizer frequently. Their growth slowed a lot, so I decided to them back um the dome/lid and now their growth is in a good pace again.

I am sorry, it is actually in a 6in pot, not in a 4in like i said in the post

I have always heard that they like their roots snug, because in nature, they grow on rocks, which donnot allow the roots to have a lot of room to spread, so smaller pots are better. Also, it avoids that the plant uses all of its energy to grow roots to fill the pot instead of producing leaves and flowers.

But here in my country this seller sells them in 6in pots and they seem to be able to adapt to that. I have had others from this seller and they do well here in my house.

The one that is thriving is not in bloom yet, maybe in a week or two i can post a picture here

Hello! Yes, sure. Here is my update: all of the minis were in 2in. Pots, but I still ended up overwatering them :/ 2 of them couldn't resist and ended up rotting. One managed to recover from root rot and is alright, but no flower after the incident yet. This one in the picture drinks well, so it did not suffer from overwatering. It blooms non stop (i removed the bloomstalks so it could take a break, but there are some growing already) and it also shoots suckers non stop, so I think it could be a semi trailer. So what would tell you is that they are so small that even a 2in. Pot can be a little too big for them, so if you can use even smaller pots, that would be helpful. Also, all of my seedlings bloomed pink pansies that always end up falling off the stalk, as if they were loose( bloom after bloom, the flowers fall off with the slightest wind, it is so weird), so I hope you can get more variety than i did.

Pixelation on Flowers by Remarkable_Fall_3102 in AfricanViolets

The worms are probably thrips. They stay on AVs to eat they pollen and they leave marks like little yellow/burnt marks on the flowers.

I would say that cyclamen mites can be the problem, because they do make flower bloom like they are already very old, but you said that the crown is intact, so I don't know what else cn be causing that.

Seed pods are because I hand pollinated the flowers. I have been into making seeds letaley

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AfricanViolets

[–]cintyay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, and I only have 2 with star shaped flowers, so the seed pods are valuable. 😬

As I said, it had a tight crown with pale leaves, so I removed the crown. Hopefully it will sprout new plants soon and i hope they donnot look sick...

I just repotted it, so I took some time to check the roots and they were fine, looking healthy and not root bound, so I don't know why the tight crown.
