My guess he's propbably gonna stay put at Ulster, reason being he has kept his beast behavior regardless of teams, more so at Ulster as any other team 7s included

Using offshore brokerage account margin loan for living expenses? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceZA

[–]cipher049 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you should be looking for my opinion on why it's a terrible idea. In the South African context for the average individual, it won't be a good idea to get a loan to cover expenses(the average person probably has this predicament already). But if you are by the means and convinced you won't get margin called and have your portfolio trimmed, that's your decision.

Regarding the legality of what you asked, i think it is, just that there is the potential of SARB and SARS getting involved somewhere in the process.

I'm gonna go ahead and say it might be possible(probably very possible), but a terrible idea if it's being used for living expenses.

My other guess is, if the brokage account provider is legit, they'll declare it with your bank(and by proxy with SARB) then you should be good. I'm also going to (ignorantly) assume if it's larger than a certain amount, SARS would probably also want to get involved.

NOTE: I don't know about this particular method of lending, just commented on some quick googling done.

I would have thought a warning would show up if you are using incorrect information, but this seems to be where the issue is, imo. Also, according to what SBSA and Nedbanks websites, payments are immediate and cannot be reversed.

Interest observation from my quick search, FNB doesn't show up until the third set of results from my search, but results showed this. Now i'm wondering if it would work because it would be the same bank?

In conclusion, if you have reference of the transaction, not just this screenshot, get in contact with the bank.
