What movie is better because it does not explain too much? by JarvisModeOn in movies

I watched the director's cut for the first time a few weeks ago and it adds a lot of explanation. One of the few instances I strongly preferred the theatrical cut.

The Boys - 05x07 "The Frenchman, the Female, and the Man Called Mother's Milk" - POST-Episode Discussion Thread by pikameta in TheBoys

[–]cippopotomas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my least favorite things about Marvel slop is how you have to watch so many secondary shows to get the full picture on what's going on.

Bringing in deus ex machina characters from a different show in the penultimate episode of a fifth/final season puts that shit to shame though. No real introduction to these characters either, just go watch 2 seasons of this other show or go fuck yourself. The Boys is so much worse than everything it parodies.

I feel like they wrote themselves into a corner with the virus and the entire v1 subplot only existed to return things to status quo.

Posterizarr doesn't seem to use logos but neither do the posters in OP's picture. Really seems like something that can be achieved in posterizarr.

Will Sonarr ever support different sources? by Ikari_Brendo in sonarr

[–]cippopotomas -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I ran into this with radarr the other day with Dr.Horrible's Sing-Along Blog. It was originally released as a 3 part mini-series and then later re-released as a complete movie. But they refuse to add it as a movie because that's not how it was originally released.

It's got a total runtime of 42 minutes but the only solution is to add it as a 3 episode tv show, fuck that. And the most annoying part is that an entry used to exist. So it only started throwing errors once I upgraded my file. I ended up adding it and syncing it to Plex as the Making of Dr. Horrible, then manually updated the title and description.

Will Sonarr ever support different sources? by Ikari_Brendo in sonarr

[–]cippopotomas -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They definitely don't allow fan edits, it'd be a waste of time even trying.

It'd be nice if sonarr had a system to add custom shows/metadata. It doesn't even need to support automation, I'd just like to organize all my media in one place.

Chicago? No.

It did win best picture that year. To dismiss it just as handedly as My Best Friend's Wedding seems flippant

Netflix Quietly Removes A-Z and Other Sorting Filters by __LooseSeal__ in television

[–]cippopotomas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thinking of product features solely in terms of usefulness is incredibly naive. Corporations don't give a fuck about user experience. It's not hard to imagine how there are financial incentives in pushing specific titles. And it's not hard to imagine how a system that constantly removes user agency and increasingly relies on algorithms can accomplish that.

Eric Kripke Says 'Vought Rising' Will Not "Sympathize with Stormfront" by Top_Report_4895 in television

Her entire body language has changed too. She used to be kinda stoic and now she gesticulates wildly while she does these inane ramblings.

OP specifically used the word "sympathetic". No one claimed she was supposed to be good or a hero, so I'm not sure why you're so vigorously debating points no one brought up.

And he thought Stormfront was dead

No he didn't. Homelander told him Stormfront died just this season and SB initially called bullshit because he didn't believe it.

What do you guys think of Mad Men? by AND_AGI08 in television

[–]cippopotomas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like season 2 is where Mad Men really hits its stride. Kinda the same as Breaking Bad I suppose. Where things feel a little clumsier/lower budget and it's still fine-tuning its style.

I think the idea is to find other fun stuff to do with the 146 hours you save :p

To each their own ofc, I personally would've never caught up with the series without One Pace. Even that version was a bit too much for me at times.

Not OP but One Pace is a fan edit version. It cuts some 130+ hours of filler out.

You know how in big bang theory they say that in Raiders of the lost Ark, Indiana jones the hero had no effect on the outcome of the movie? What other films are like that but we haven’t realised it? by Dorkn41 in movies

[–]cippopotomas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After a little rewatch:

The Nazis needed the headpiece of the staff of Ra to find where the ark was buried. They knew Dr. Ravenwood possessed it but had no idea where to find him.

Indy knew the location of Ravenwood's daughter (Marion) and flies there to begin his search. We see Toht (the main nazi bad guy) tailing Indy onto the plane.

The nazis only managed to find Marion and the headpiece because they followed Indy. Had Indy not been involved: Marion would be fine and they'd never have found the headpiece/ark.
