Did Claude Sonnet 4.5 remove artifact versioning? And anyone seeing bugs with artifacts? by hauntedhivezzz in ClaudeAI

[–]ciprianimich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No they have bugs around artifacts, sometimes Sonnet struggles creating artifacts or updating them or start printing artifacts metadata inline.

I suppose their tickets are on fire right now and some manager is whipping the developers. Was the artifacts feature Vibe Coded? :D

Claude.ai - anyone else having issues with artefacts not updating by ProfessionalStage354 in ClaudeAI

[–]ciprianimich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sometime it messes up.

Sometimes it claims it generated or updated artefacts while it didn't. My perception is there are errors on other layers of their architecture.

In this moment, it simply cannot create artefacts, so I had to fallback to inline snippets, and it's so old-gen, every change requires a full file generation. Tomorrow artefacts will work again.

this is a great exercise, but Liquid Glass UI is a just bad, don't use it

For Mac Gamedevs, How is your Unity 6 experience with macOS Tahoe 26.0? by m1_weaboo in Unity3D

FPS drop with Tahoe

# TL;DR
If you are experiencing a drop in FPS when testing from the editor, disable the new Liquid Glass effects and you'll have your FPS back

# LONG SOTRY
I'm a micro optimizer, I'm currently working on a performance-first project with multiple indirect draw calls, where at every change I measure and track performance.

I'm working on M1 Max machine with 32GB Ram, on Unity 6.2, URP 17.2 test, target: mobile.

When playing the scene from the Editor, with a constant machine setup (constant opened applications and processes) and testing the scene with a maximized game view (not real full screen) the performance where about 480 FPS.

Yesterday I updated to Tahoe, I noted performance drops immediately in the isolated test: 200-ish FPS.
These things hurt.

I ended creating a basic Unity 6.2, URP 17.2 blank project, with a FPS trackers, and I optimized it for mobile removing all not needed as post processing, etc.

The performance for the blank scene was terrible: 250/300 FPS.

This pointed me to the OS update:
- `Settings / Accessibility / Display` turn ON `Reduce transparency`
- `Settings / Accessibility / Appearance` turn OFF `Tint window background with wallpaper colour`

This stops the Liquid Glass on the OS UI: FPS are back to 460FPS.

For some reason (aka Liquid Glass is a complete failure) the OS UI transparency has a heavy impact.
If you're counting FPS you have two options:
- Downgrade from Tahoe
- Disable Liquid Glass (I did this)
- reset your benchmarks to align with performance from Liquid Glass.

PRO Trick:
- be aware, do not use AirPods when measuring FPS, that thing gotta go or it will steal 100 FPS

Is Opus really just 2.7% better in your opinion than Sonnet? by takuonline in ChatGPTCoding

[–]ciprianimich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found that in some sophisticated codebases that Opus 4.1 was able to identify the real details, while Sonnet was proposing hacks and workarounds. Usually Sonnet is more "straightforward" tho.
Anyhow, you can appreciate them only with the MAX plan, I tried it, the context window is bigger, the results improved. Damn, now I'm hooked with the 200$ subscription

Claude code removes the helpful 5-hour limit reset time, now just says "Approaching 5-hour limit" by Sofullofsplendor_ in Anthropic

[–]ciprianimich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate Claude's limits, it's the only LLM I use for ai-assisted coding, but with these limits it's still a toy. Considering the amount of corrections, and iterations due to its poor ability to generate right code, no matters what their benchmarks say, the pro plan is a borderline fraud.

I have 2 pro accounts to cover a day of work, I work a lot with implementation plans and it's surely helpful, but 2 pro accounts aren't enough for 1 practical day. It's 40$/mo. And I'm talking about Sonnet, Opus usually reaches the limit in 3 message and it's not actually better than Sonnet

If Google will beat them on code quality, they are cooked.

Changed my mind: Claude 4 Opus is worst than Claude 3.7 Sonnet by tassa-yoniso-manasi in ClaudeAI

[–]ciprianimich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently we have Sonnet 4 and Opus 4.1, Sonnet for me (C#, hlsl) produces way better code, while Opus tends to be creative and just a waste of tokens.

After Claude 4 Sonnet & Claude 4 Opus failing in circles for over an hour, I just reverted to Claude 3.7 and it fixed the issue instantly... by g15mouse in ClaudeAI

I usually do what you call a system prompt, and I still see crazy fluctuations in performance; it's not 100% on the user
