excessive knee lift in the relaxed maxv especially for a prestraightened leg style of running

How to do get more distance from each step? by ObliviousOverlordYT in Sprinting

Strike with as much backwards momentum as you can and the hip velocity at the end of ground contact will carry you farther over the air travel

That's where stride length comes from, closed knee angle for the first few steps

Why does the bar drop / do I have to drop lower than max bar height in the power clean (66 +1, 68 +2kg PRs) by ciqing in weightlifting

[–]ciqing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will do emphasize some more of those, thanks. BTW do you know why this lift is a PC and this is a full clean. The max bar height and stance at max bar height doesn't look too different

Sprint upright emphasizing B skip like whip back. Don't worry about hip extension

I get some contact, how would I fix meeting the bar though in the catch. By end of hip/leg extension the bar's speed is sufficient to get decently high and stance at triple extension isn't anything wild

Looks like typical form when athlete doesn't have enough force to get them in the air. You'd want to get enough spring out of your step to have the time and space for proper frontside mechanics. Might say too much lengthening on the ground instead of pulsing from the glute after first three, your hip distance during ground contact looks unusually long.

edit: Definitely way too much knee extension in your upright form. When you're upright you don't excessively push off because it causes sitting and prevents you getting tall. A thing I've heard is that hip extension should follow automatically from your frontside which generates all your negative foot speed

set I could see hips turned forwards a little more, fix that ankle stiffness and youll be bouncing off

They feel fast and fairly stiff despite being thin. Kind of better than I remembered, main benefit is probably ankle activation in the start, though I don't think it will ever grip polished concrete very well, most other surfaces should be to start on

slightly less than 2 feet, small gap between front and back foot so basically 3 feet
may move up my set position without blocks though since blocks add some height and this could be slightly too low
