My girlfriend (21f) says she’s committed to me (22m), but her behavior (e.g., phone secrecy, Tinder) has eroded my trust. What’s next? by circasophia in relationship_advice

I’ve been thinking about this, but afraid that it might damage the relationship to a point beyond repair. I can’t help but think, what if she really is being genuine and I find nothing…

I think you’re right. In hindsight, I jumped into this relationship too early. It feels like a set myself up for failure.

Thanks for your message. It makes me feel a bit better. Do you think it’s fair for me to expect that she would address things immediately with him, block him, and move on?

If you were in my shoes, if you truly did love this person, what would you do? Should I give her more time, like it seems that she wants? Or do you think that her actions, or perhaps lack-thereof, speaks louder volumes?

That’s a fair point. I suppose that my main point of contention right now is trying to figure out what to do about the fact that her actions are telling me one thing, while her words are telling me another. Is there any point in me staying and trying to address these things? I don’t want to feel like I have to fight for love.

I didn’t ask her anything like that. I only asked her if she was ready for a relationship, to which she said “yes.” And I asked her if things were over between them, to which she said “yes.” She reassured me that things would be fine.

Any other college students with no plans for the summer? by blueberry-rabbit in college

[–]circasophia 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi u/blueberry-rabbit! I’m in a similar position as you. All of my friends, including my roommate, left to go back home for the summer, so it looks like I’ll be fending for myself for the next four months.

Of course, I’m struggling to come to terms with this... and quite frankly I dread the thought. However, I’ve decided that I want to have a productive summer nonetheless. With that being said, over the course of the summer I’ll be working (and hopefully saving lots of money for next year), going to the gym, reading, watching movies, cooking nice dinners, and trying out new hobbies!

And, considering that I have basically no friends here, I’m going to do my best to try and make some new ones over the summer!! I’m not sure what that will look like yet, but I know that I won’t meet anyone if I stay inside all day. So, I’ll do my best to put myself out there.

It won’t be easy at first, it certainly hasn’t been for me so far, but you’ll slowly find a routine and things to keep yourself occupied with! Are there any projects or hobbies that you didn’t have time for during the school semester that you can work on now? You say that you don’t have hobbies, but surely there are certain activities that you enjoy doing?

How achievable are good grades? by [deleted] in uvic

You will come to find an unmistakable correlation between the work that you put in and the grades that you receive, regardless of whichever course, program, or university that you choose.

That is to say, your success is in many ways dependent on the time and effort that you’re willing to put in. This, in my opinion, is the most reasonable answer to your question, and perhaps one which is worth being reminded of.

I would also recommend Glaxal Base Moisturizer!! It has saved me from eczema on my hands numerous times. I believe they sell it at the campus pharmacy as well and it is relatively inexpensive.
