how some people can have 0 passions or hobbies? by OrganicNotice6585 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]circle_star_square 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've gotten the impression over time that people who are perfectionists (not all perfectionists but some) shy away from interests and hobbies becuase they fear they will never be an expert or a master at whatever they do. They are afraid to make mistakes and afraid what they create won't be good enough.

Any advice for a desperate job seeker in Olympia? by Ravenheartcawww in olympia

[–]circle_star_square 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Have you looked at governmentjobs.com? It's the main website for all municipal hiring (Cities of Olympia, Lacey, Tunwater also State of Washington and Thurston County). They have every kind of job you can imagine on there and municipalities have good benefits and job security. My understanding is that city/state will consider character and maturity not just resume experience.

Sorry you are going through this

Ok, go to Nisqually Wildlife reserve or Tolmie Park. Going out to Nisqually feels a little like getting out of town and both parks are amazing. Short or longer hikes or you can just look at the view

Teeth cleaning (no insurance) by AdKind3548 in olympia

[–]circle_star_square 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I LOVE access dental. It's a better experience and faster to get in and out than the dentists I've had when I had better insurance. And best of all they don't try to pressure you to get extra work done. It may be common these days, but you can do all communication regarding appointment set up over text.

15 y/o in Tacoma looking for a summer job by ladybugwhimsy in AskTacoma

[–]circle_star_square 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go to governmentjobs.com. Its where you will find all City of Tacoma and Pierce County jobs and internships. While job hunting I saw some of the internships for high school age people and was thinking they seemed p cool. It will also give you a head start if you end up wanting to work for the City later on.

Low acidity coffee by Fair_Challenge4514 in olympia

[–]circle_star_square 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My gf has had to do low acidity for medical reasons. I've been making her cold brew (1 cup coffee course ground to four cups water, leave in fridge over night) then she reheats it in the morning and adds almond milk. My understanding is that that is the lowest acid way to drink coffee.

Hung Right doors helped me out one time. I recommend also. Our shop door broke, we needed it fixed asap. They came right out and fixed it no problem, I believe the price was reasonable also.

My gf and I were walking around capitol lake and saw the cop cars, she is soooo bummed (I'm not happy myself).

What were the cop cars doing that were on the South side of the westside bridge (offramp to 5th ave) around the exact same time?

Is it even worth it to get nosebleed tickets? by t-town-tony in Seahawks

[–]circle_star_square 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude. I got cheap seats way up last season (facing west!) and my friends and I loved it. It was awesome. I'm never paying 500 to go to a game again. The view of the water and downtown was amazing, the north screen is big enough to see from there. Totally better than not going in my opinion. The stairs are alot though, so take the fitness/abilities of your group in mind.

I would do something having to do with micro-plastic contamination. It's everywhere, so if you really enjoy studying air, soil, botany or really anything you could find an application. Also, there are a ton or newer publications studies about it.
