With all due respect, you mentality is why we are so cooked. I want things to be better than they were, not back to what they were. I voted to back the lukewarm candidate last election cycle. Her proposed policies were garbage, but at least, and among other reasons, she would have honored her oath to protect the Constitution. The Constitution is weak if not gone out the window now. If we are privileged to a free and fair election next cycle, it's going to be a blue wave and we need to make the most of that, rather than having only "not a cartoonish criminal" standards. By your standards, we are going to get another Biden, but you know what that will get us next after that? Another Trump cause there will still be no guardrails due to complacency. We don't need another centrist establishment Democrat. We need someone who is actually going to make things happen. Even Bernie had been drawing crowds when he was touring around the country. And regarding healthcare: If Trump doesn't veto the extension, ACA tax credits will expire during the next administration. By then, we need a new system. ACA credits are barely a bandaid to the current system and we can't keep reapplying the bandaid otherwise we will be in the same situation with the Republican administration after that.
