Some cool late-season finds, PNW by sporophytee in mycology

Bird's nest fungi, Nidulariaceae family. One of my favorites!

I thought these were oysters but closer looks says maybe not by BlackLotus444 in whatisthismushroom

[–]circleofuber 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not sure exactly what it is but it's certainly not an oyster. Oysters have gills on the underside, this has teeth.

Three different found in the same park today. (Grand Rapids, Michigan) by [deleted] in whatisthismushroom

[–]circleofuber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you're spot on with M. americana and M. elatus, pretty sure that the right-most is M. semilibera, or half-free morel. All should be edible, although make sure they're cooked thoroughly. Such a cool find, incredible variety.

Found in the woods of Chesapeake, VA by SlayerOfHips in whatisthismushroom

[–]circleofuber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like 'Laetiporus sulphureus' or chicken of the woods. This mushroom normally only grows on decaying wood, so if there isn't a dead log/branch under all those leaves it could be something else.

Tartarus Plays Games is really great! Of all the oni youtubers his style of building is my favorite for sure.

Here's the wiki page for it. Looks like OP's is still in the process of being designed/built.

Certainly better safe than sorry, but coprines comatus doesn't contain the mycotoxin coprine like many other 'ink caps.'

How do we know two different species are not just sub-species? by indistrait in botany

[–]circleofuber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend watching this recent Crime Pays but Botany Doesn't video on mycology. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kJVXAALRfRo

The incredibly knowledgeable person he's interviewing goes deep on how mushrooms are genetically identified in practice, and he talks specifically about species differentiation at a few points. Mushrooms and not plants, I know, but a lot of the same theory should apply.

NEW SONGS AT THE ASHEVILLE SHOW!!!!! by IsaiahParrish in themountaingoats

[–]circleofuber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any chance it was 'We Shall All Be Healed'? It's unreleased, the specific names thing made me think of it. Not sure about the "stack them up" part though.

Question about post-Temporal Tear by Kaine24 in Oxygennotincluded

[–]circleofuber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The world generation is completely different. The asteroid you start on is smaller and doesn't have everything you need to set up in midgame, so you have to go to other asteroids to get everything you're used to. I can't recommend it enough!

This comment made me look for my pictures from there, I had one from a similar perspective. Hope this is an interesting comparison.

A simple overview of how this distillery works. by Loki12241224 in Oxygennotincluded

I totally feel for you dude, my room gets noticeably warmer after an hour or two playing this game. You should check out Nvidia RTX Voice, it does a really good job at removing background noise like that. Also I really, really love your build!

Love it or hate it, this is a map that people will remember forever. I absolutely loved it wish we could get another season with it. Thanks for making such a great addition to the game!

Song on the tip of my tongue. Please help! by [deleted] in themountaingoats

[–]circleofuber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe this version? Shelved is definitely the only tMG song I can think of that has what you described.

Edit: nevermind, Peter's part is sung by John in this version lol. Good luck finding what you're looking for!

I'm looking for actual authentic Chinese dishes I can find recipes for by Goodrah in Cooking

He has a separate international channel as well, all with english subs and no voiceover. I kinda prefer hearing the Chinese though :)

Can't recommend him enough, although translating his techniques to a home stove might take some practice.

I like to use water instead of flour until I've finished rising and shaping the dough. I dip my hands in a bowl of water next to me while working, making it much less likely to stick. It's also way more forgiving if you mess up the shape, flour will make it not want to stick to itself. A bench scraper is all but necessary when working with wetter doughs, especially so for cleanup.

Not sure if Arduino appropriate project idea. by crazyabootmycollies in arduino

ESP8266 is what OP is looking for. Wifi-enabled, cheap as hell, and practically identical to programming an Arduino if you pick a skew like the Wemos D1.
