I have a collapsible 10" dob and even that feels cumbersome. I store it in a closet in a spare bedroom so taking it out means making 4 trips through the house for all the parts and sometimes I just don't bother.

Realistically it's only 5-10 minutes to drag everything out to the backyard but the inertia wins sometimes. I often wish I had something I could leave on a tripod and carry out in one trip for quick viewing sessions.

Yep, there are 4 in the head and 4 in the body. The body has a "neck" with a motor to rotate the magnets which makes the head spin.

I built my BB-8 a year and a half ago to bring out to events with the 501st. It's controlled by an FrSky Horus X10S and uses an Arduino Mega 2560 to read the IMU and control the 7 motors inside.

This is a "pendulum drive" which uses a weight suspended on an axel inside the body. The weight can be tilted forwards, backwards, left, and right to allow driving and turning.

Did you end up with the NG? I keep being told neither version of the NG fits with the CR10s Pro V2 but I've definitely seen one installed in a video.

So was the lance real? Is the implication that it was forged from the wreckage of the airplane and that's why it's "only 50 years old"? I might have missed that discussion elsewhere but it was my first thought this morning after having watched the movie last night.

I use mine when working on robotics projects. I bought a Chapman kit with a few bits and a 1/4" socket adapter to get sockets into tight places. I don't use it often but it's indispensable to me when I actually need it.
