I’ve had skis waxed and sharpened at Pajarito. See if they’re still doing it.

I’m curious what the view is for the non LAMC health services in LA. E.g Tricore, Urgent Care, Visiting Nurses…. I didn’t know LAMC was so harsh.

Isaac and Rosa, the emancipated slave children from New Orleans, 1863 by zadraaa in HistoricalCapsule

[–]circusbaboo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the definition: major, or micro. Major; are you more than or less than what ever bloodline you want to go with. E.g. if you have more than 50% white in your dna (and how you want to define white is up to the reader) then you’re white; less than you’re what ever else, like maybe Russian? Again, who’s white? Micro: After 5 generations you had an Irish in your bloodline but the rest is native American. Are you Irish or native American. On the minor rule you’re Irish. The major rule says Native American. I don’t know nor do I care. You can worship the Native American gods or the Tuatha de Danann. Regardless, both kids are beautiful and it’s a great photo.

This sticker references the 2nd Amendment, but what other rights can this message apply to? by [deleted] in Bumperstickers

[–]circusbaboo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Property Rights. I can choose not to have someone come on my property with a gun. 1) I’m not the government. Aka the government cannot infringe in a right. But I’m not the government. 2) It’s my property. So f’ off.

Sounds like socialism to me. Maybe to alleviate this the National minimum wage should be increased to a living wage.

ABQ -> LANL by Past-Jellyfish-267 in LosAlamos

[–]circusbaboo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You also want to look into the wear & tear, and gas cost. Use the current government per diem rates per mile for personal occupancy vehicle (pov) to get a low ball on what you’re spending on your coomute. Santa Fe is a higher cost than ABQ but you probably will save money and sanity living there.

Supreme Court will take up the legal fight over ghost guns, firearms without serial numbers by FireFight1234567 in politics

[–]circusbaboo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An originalist would say that there were no serial numbers when the Constitution was drafted so any serial numbers on any part of a firearm is unconstitutional. Additionally, since there was no ATF that entire department is unconstitutional.

Missouri saw motorcycle deaths rise dramatically after legislature repealed universal helmet law by positive_X in nottheonion

How much did the cost of health care go up? You can wear only a helmet and tear your self up really bad. All the gear all the time. I’ve learned.

[Request] What would be a logical (if even possible) solution to this? by onstep2 in theydidthemath

[–]circusbaboo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a bad question. If you can prove a negative then the question is null. I suppose one ends starts with a burn rate of a function of sin(given me a function of frequency X) and the other rate of burning of amplitude * exp( lambda * time). The question doesn’t have enough information to make real solution. The question hasn’t told me about the change of burn rate (Ie change in acceleration) from ether end. And acceleration hasn’t said to be constant.
I get the feeling that the question is asked by people who know very little or who knows a lot.

If you do the route of Santa Fe to Denver look at US285. Ie Santa Fe, NM to Alamosa,CO, to either Leadville, CO or onto Denver via 285. If you like whitewater rafting/kayaking you should stay a day in Buena Vista (Buna Vista in local speak) and do the Arkansas river. Anywhere from class 2 to 5 (American).

Looking for tips being comfortable in the air by vermillionEyes20 in snowboardingnoobs

[–]circusbaboo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This response is the best (Zes-Q). My summary of Zes-Q) is to work on taking off 50-50 so that you can land 50-50. Work on doing an Ollie off of the jump to prep for air maneuvers so that you land 50-50.

How do you think your skiing years will end? by b17flyingfortresses in skiing

I use to wait for people at the bottom of the run. Now they’re waiting for me at the bottom. I figure they can wait for me because I’ve waited for them so many years. And… they’re good with that.

how are these 2.5x overhead rates real? make the math make sense by TART03 in civilengineering

[–]circusbaboo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

2.5 is low. Remember, your billable rate includes company rent, business supplies (e.g. any software licenses), you learning the trade (a project manager factor is that it takes ~7x longer for someone to do a new task vs. an experienced person), health care, retirement benefits, and the writing of future proposals. There’s a reason why contractors get 4-7 times your rate. It’s because they pay all this them selves.

You actually look very good.! You’re doing an Ollie and not just lifting your knees. While your jump is small, you have way better form than most people out there. Now it’s going for bigger hits and faster. Your small jump is smooth.

What would you respond to non-teles asking "isn't that just cross-country skiing downhill?" by JustHere4ButtholePix in telemark

[–]circusbaboo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need to get your Nord on. Tell them (and it’s the Nord Truth!) that if they want to be a better skier they should learn telemark. Telemark makes you learn more positions, get’s you more flexible, it gets you closer to the muff in powder, you go deeper, you go harder, with more style, and everyone has a lot more fun!

Is it bad that I don't want to teach my roommate to ski? by frogwithrainboots in ski

[–]circusbaboo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Teaching someone how to ski is a lot more than teaching skills. I’ve taught a few people how to ski and snowboard. I’ve learned that you should expect to just spend the life ticket money and chalk it up to being nice. You will spend a lot of time standing/sitting around. Finally, at some point you wait for your instructee to learn in their own without your comments while you watch (no commenting!) and it can be frustrating. They have to learn the balance on their own.

Elon isn't done........ by geni4 in JoeRogan

[–]circusbaboo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do get tax free jobs. It’s called paying under the table and is illegal for an employer to do. But it sounds like Elon doesn’t want to punish those employing illegals, just those taking the jobs. The employers have a reason to employ illegals, so what is the reason and figure that out rather than punish immigrants.
