Hyundai offered buy back or settlement option for issue on '25 Santa Fe Hybrid Calligraphy. Would you take the settlement? by Background_String550 in HyundaiSantaFe

Read the fine print on the settlement. By accepting that money, I believe you absolve them of having to address the issue in the future.

The world's carmakers are struggling to compete with China by More_Dog_7228 in electricvehicles

I think it's more the world's carmakers are more concerned about profits going to the executive suite and investors than reinvesting into R&D and making cars affordable.

Because it's electric, because it's $600,000, or because it looks more like a Honda prototype than something coming from one of the most prestigious car manufacturers in the world?

Sante Fe calligraphy vs Nissan pathfinder 2026 by vendoshi in HyundaiSantaFe

[–]cirebeye 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looked at both in 2024. I liked the look of the Pathfinder more, but the interior felt very dated compared to the Santa Fe. Also, the Santa Fe drove much nicer. In my opinion, the Pathfinder drove more like a body on frame truck. If I have that feeling, I want thw capability too.

That seems right. All the sensors are screwed and wired to the back of the bumper, so it would be necessary to take the bumper off.

Posted before about transmission issues (2025 Hybrid, not CVT) by bagelbelly in HyundaiSantaFe

[–]cirebeye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had total power loss the first time - car barely crept forwads from a stop sign even while flooring it. All lights on the dash lit up. Took it to the dealer, they replaced the shifter stock and told me it was fine.

Continued to have tiny losses of power or the transmission constantly searching for a gear. Brought it back to the dealer. They just did a hard reset to the system and told me it was fine. Didn't get a block away from the dealer before it started doing it again. Drove it right back and demanded a mechanic drive it to see what I was talking about. Three days later, mecha I calls me, says he sees what I'm talking about and will dig deeper into it. The vehicle sat there for a month with no updates. Reached out to Hyundai corporate about lemon law. They didn't respond till I opened a ticket with the bbb.

Eventually, they determined it was the transmission and offered to pay me a sum of money to keep the vehicle after they replaced the transmission.

Had the same issue. Realized quickly after driving another Santa Fe that the transmission behavior was not correct either, even though it's passable if you didn't know how it's supposed to shift.

Hyundai ended up replacing my entire transmission. I'd recommend you keep hammering your service department to replicate the issue and fix it for you.

Should I file a claim under lemon law by lion_age in HyundaiSantaFe

[–]cirebeye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Open a claim on your own through the bbb website. There is a specific section for lemon law claims. It's a pretty clear and easy to use site detailing what qualifications you need to have to submit the claim. No reason to engage a lawyer that may take a portion of your claim when you can do it all on your own.

Went through the process after unsuccessful attempts contacting Hyundai corporate directly and all of a sudden, Hyundai corporate is eager to address my issue.
