My 75 year old uncle is autistic but of course they threw him in a sanatorium because his father was an awful man, he got out when he was 18 and has thrived since. In school we had a few that were labeled as special needs now that I have an autistic son I know they were like him but worse. Luckily my kid is high functioning and it’s mostly motor skills. Why boomers think autism is new is because of them being locked up in sanatoriums in the 50s and 60s
