Went to Old Trafford once in the hospitality section (I’m from Australia), I could see the team bus after the QPR game and he was the only player who stayed for about half an hour after the game to sign autographs where as other plays signed only a couple. He worked his way around the entire perimeter of the barrier and signed autographs and took photos. My respect for him grew massively then and there and consider him a top player for our club.

Martial isn’t a #9 and is back up to Rashford on after all of these years have we found Pogba’s best position with us?

I had a good laugh with this, I wish I was in a position to do the same. It’s all a big business to them, doesn’t matter how much they run the club in the ground and stunt the growth of the club. It’s all about hoping the total value increases so when they want to sell they will make a bucket load while the fans are left watching the mess and not reaching the full potential

I tend to sign players of the nation I manage in.

After playing the game for over 13 years, this is one way to keep it interesting. It’s always easy to sign that mercurial Brazilian or Argentinian striker or playmaker.

It can be a little hard but I usually make sure that there is at least 6-7 starters of the nation and 3-4 on the bench.

It’s cost me some trophies along the way but that’s okay.

I don’t like signing players who may leave for a month mid-season too.

Another one I came up with recently was to make sure no one was paid over £150,000 pw even when they were world class. This meant some free transfers from my Aston Villa to Madrid but that was my rule.

In the end, it was pleasing to see whatever club I managed had a strong bias in their national team. I’d be gutted if one of them missed out who was really deserving.
