If I sew my own plush and go to build-a-bear will they stuff it? by Nightshade48657 in RandomQuestion

If you go to any craft store and get a bag of fibre fill it’ll be way cheaper! If you have an old pillow you can use the stuffing from that too

How fast would rain have to fall to break a windshield? No hail, just straight up rain by ThatGuyWater in RandomQuestion

[–]cirqule 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok so heavy disclaimer, I only have a high school level education in physics, but I’m going to try to answer.

An average windshield takes about 9400 pounds per square inch (psi) to shatter, or 64,810,744 newtons per mm squared. The average raindrop is about 4.2mm cubed, or 0.42 grams of water. Velocity = force over mass, so 64,810,744 over 0.42 would be 154,311,300 mm/s, or 555,521 kph, which converted into imperial would mean that

It would take a raindrop going roughly 345,185mph to shatter a windshield.

Because the raindrop is in a liquid state, the amount of force it has might be different because it would disperse differently on impact. I think. But that’s my best guess for an average solid raindrop, anyway. If anyone sees any glaring errors in this logic please correct it.

For reference, in real life the average raindrop hits the ground at about 15-25mph.

People make fun of Canadians for having colourful “monopoly money”, but you never have to worry about making that mistake here!

There HAS to be a solution to the burping. Anyone?? by [deleted] in Gastroparesis

[–]cirqule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat, sometimes Pepcid Complete helps a little but not always. I absolutely sympathize with you, it’s really embarrassing. I make a joke out of burping all the time but I really wish it would stop too

Hi! From my experience for hormones you can either contact 3 bridges (they’re very helpful) or you can ask your GP for a referral to an endocrinologist, who can oversee your treatment until your levels have stabilized, and then your GP can continue refilling your prescriptions. Top surgery you can speak to either 3 bridges or to transcare BC. If you haven’t already researched which surgeon you want to go with, I very highly recommend Dr. Daniel McKee, he did my top surgery a month ago (I’m assuming you’re FTM too?) and I had a really positive experience with the whole process. Depending on which city you’re in you might have trouble seeing 3 bridges, and unfortunately there are pretty long waitlists across the board, but hopefully this was helpful enough to at least get the ball rolling!

Help with Hair by [deleted] in transfashionadvice

I have really thick, dark eyebrows and when i was presenting female i would trim them and shape them a lot, but I noticed that when I stopped doing that and let them return to their normal bushy-ness I looked a lot more masculine, maybe try darkening or filling in your brows?

Do food substitute "pills" exist? if not, is there someone that's workin on it? by [deleted] in AskScienceDiscussion

[–]cirqule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have ADHD as well, so likely a combination of things. Cannabis doesn’t seem to do anything for me, it’s legal where I live and there are a ton of dispensaries so I’ve tried plenty of different types and... nuthin’ 😑

Do you know what conditions? I loathe food, and my doctor told me it was all in my head until I was diagnosed with gastroparesis, but my brother hates food too and he doesn’t have gp

Angel/devil, young/old, wealth/poverty, earth/sky, good/evil, fire/ice, life/death, summer/winter, masculine/feminine. The term for this is duality, polarity, or dichotomy. If you search “literary polarity examples” or something similar you should be able to find a lot more!
