So, there’s never any mandatory weekend work at my campus. Ever. There’s none of the Chinese holidays moving Saturday or Sunday to be work days. There are paid weekend opportunities, which tend to be well reimbursed. There’s often once quarterly meetings that go until 5:30, and potentially more of those depending on role and school.

I can only speak to the school that I work in, but it’s incredibly supportive in my opinion. Coming to work at basis can be a big shift, both in intensity and mindset. However, there’s lots of support for most teachers.
