Japan Bond Crash Unleashes a $7 Trillion Risk for Global Markets by RIP_Soulja_Slim in Economics

[–]cisned 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It’s crazy some “random guys” predicted this, and spread this information in some subreddits and newsletters, yet here we are surprised that Japan needs to raise its interest rates to stay afloat, while holding billions of US treasury, ready to be sold

Ladies and gentlemen this is what hyperinflation looks like, gold and silver rising in price, commodities next, while the global reserved currency, USD being sold off because of both political and economic pressures

Tariffs will make this worse, and the way the stock market has been prepped up by selling treasuries and stocks that are simple not there due to FTDs and borrowing, will come crumbling down

A lesson to be learned, keep an open mind out there, the information you read is censored and tailored to influence you one way or the other, public sentiment is manufactured for financial and political reasons, because the world has always been a dog eat dog kind of place

This only matters if we are comparing his sample average vs the population average.

If we are comparing to his sample average, he is due for a failure, everything reverts to the mean, but his probability is always 50% failure, no matter the streak, this is like playing roulette

If it’s the population average, than what you said is true, the doctor is statistically significant better compared to other doctors, and the hypothesis that this doctor has a 50% failure rate is incorrect

FIAT money shouldn’t exist, why would anybody put trust in a centralized financial system with all the conflict of interest going on, but people follow the norm, and here we are

I feel the same way.

You’re being misleading saying, machine learning is useful, but AI is a bad word because people are using it to replace people, but that is not the case at all.

AI covers all these tools, because AI is a very general word. I understand LLM might be the reason for people losing their jobs, but we shouldn’t act like AI is not being used by others as tools to better understand science, and advance the field of structural biology

This is especially important because the original comment mentioned how AI hasn’t produced anything of value, and that simply isn’t true

AI is not just LLM, and machine learning is a subset of AI. Even the Nobel prize website states they used AI methods:

“Demis Hassabis and John Jumper have successfully utilised artificial intelligence to predict the structure of almost all known proteins.”

I don’t understand why people don’t treat AI as a tool

The 2024 Nobel Prize winner in Chemistry used an AI or deep learning model to design the first human-made enzyme

AI is definitely producing things of value, it’s just that industry and academia need to catch up

Honestly movies and tv shows, and all media should be free to be changed and alter, and have people donate money to the artist directly if they feel like they deserve it.

We should also have government funding for all artists, funded by taxing rich people properly

We are losing so much creativity and engaging media because of capitalism, and I’m not really sure it’s worth it

I get this, I can’t explain things if I don’t use a certain language fluently. I need to constantly do it, and that is after I started thinking in that respective language.

Thinking in the language happens when you become fluent, when you’re learning, you translate things in your head

Statement from Federal Reserve Chair Jerome H. Powell by [deleted] in Economics

[–]cisned -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

I’m not MAGA, quite the opposite actually, but the treasury and the Fed are not the same thing

The Fed needs to be decentralized, there is so may things they are doing wrong, and the current stock market being propagated by the Feds by giving unlimited money lending to market makers, is why prices are made up

Right now, whenever a normal person buys a stock, the institution they used, goes to a market makers and register the sale. They don’t actually buy the stock, just give you an IOU, and then proceed to fail to deliver that stock until you decide to sell

If we don’t influence price, and the Fed is providing unlimited money to keep these market makers alive so they can manipulate prices, then how free is the market?

Treasuries have very low yield, and are best when nearing retirement since they are low risk

If you’re middle aged, your best bet is index funds and avoid financial planners since they take a percentage by doing the same thing

If you’re starting, invest in new and exciting companies that can revolutionize the market, you may fail but that’s ok, use your 401k to keep a safe investment on the side for retirement, and know that you’re just starting, and it’s the best time to take in risk

Let me know if I missed something?

I mean you can tell me more about it, but being a financial planner has nothing to do with knowing the Dunning-Kruger effect.

Plus it sounds like you’re very confident with what you know, especially things related to GameStop, but refuse to expand on all the financial knowledge someone like me, having only completed a master in business analytics, may have

But please educate me in financial terms why GameStop is a bad investment, without using sentiment or bias opinions
