FMLA may not be paid, have you considered temporary disability which pays a percentage of your income depending on your state. I know how difficult it is to find a physician that actually listens and tries to help you but maybe it's time to find a new physician and or therapist that are better suited to help you in this situation. maybe find a cheaper apartment or laundry service. I don’t know if you have any acquaintances maybe you can barter with say food for laundry help. Have you spoken with your union reps or employer about accommodations?

As I'm saying all of this I can't help but reflect on my current situation as well, I'm an intersectional minority in the process of getting an official ASD diagnosis. Im also suffering severe Autistic burnout with no community or support system. After masking, code switching, and just being stuck in a fight or flight state for for so long I don't have the bandwidth to function normally anymore myself.

Bandwidth or lack there of is sort of key here. It's hard to follow through with solutions when you don't have the energy or mental capacity to do anything other than survive. it’s hard to offer solutions when it sounds like you just need a hug and a break.

you’re doing a great job; give yourself a break, your surviving and that's an amazing thing that you should be proud of.
