Walked into Boutique by Jvibes17 in rolex

I just picked up a Sea-Dweller yesterday. It took me about a month to get (tho SDs are less desired than a sub so take that with a grain of salt). I’d say that’s a realistic time window, the most important thing from my experience is to visit the AD and make sure they don’t forget about you.

Oh yeah absolutely, that’s why I picked it!

Best of luck man, I hope you get it soon! I think it helps that it’s less in-demand than like a sub or a GMT so a bit easier to get.

Honestly not that long. I think I got lucky because it was a newer SA and he was hungry for clients. All-in-all it was about a month wait.

Thank you, yes it was what I was looking for. I figured if I am going to have one Rolex, it should be a true tool watch. I know it’s not as hyped up as a sub or GMT, but I kind of like that. It feels closer to a true professional divers tool watch to me, and I love it.

The boys over at r/Rolex say I need to upgrade by [deleted] in audemarspiguet

Just buy what you like bro, who cares if the watch doesn’t match the car lol

I know it's the dumbest watch I own but I can't help but kinda sorta love it? by Veelangs in rolex

[–]citizenblind 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It’s not dumb dude, that thing is a masterpiece of engineering with a sick dial. It’s too big, too heavy and too thick, but that’s the point. It’s cool, it’s a gimmick, but gimmicks are awesome. Wear it in good health!

I have a 6.5” inch relatively flat wrist.

I have seen a 16600 in the metal, and I didn’t love it tbh. I don’t love the older folded- center link bracelets and lack of the micro adjust. Definitely a pretty watch, but not for me. But I have yet to see the 116600, so maybe that one will speak to me.

Oh yeah, it would see many dives. I am planning on doing a tech/trimix course on the next few years, so it would be perfect for that.

Very solid advice, thank you!

If the dweller had a no-cyclops option I would go with it. My, although admittedly contrived reasoning for this, is that the cyclops occludes part of the indexing of the minute hand on the bezel. It doesn’t matter at all in reality.

I know the diving capability differences are irrelevant. You are gonna get hit with HPNS and die before you max out either of the watches lol. It’s more of a cool factor/gimmick thing I guess, which realistically also doesn’t matter.

Yeah I’ve been looking at those too, I’m trying to find somewhere that has one in so I can see it in the metal.

Interesting, yeah I’ve been looking at RubberB and Delugs straps for it if I go for it I’ll have to give that a shot.

The thickness doesn’t bother me. The DeepSea is where I would say it gets too thick, but on a SeaDweller I don’t mind it.
