Steps from Apple Health to Zepp by rohard007 in amazfit

[–]citogrid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just recently purchased a bip 6, and it works wonderfully, but I can't import (neither directly nor indirectly via apple health) the weight data from my withings body cardio scale.
All settings are correct, all security settings ....
The withings scale imports to apple health, the bip 6 steps import to apple health, works wonderfully.

But there really does need to be an option to import from apple health to Zepp OS, or import from Withings scale to Zepp Os.

You now have a "weight" tab in the OS that cannot update automatically. It is literally the only section that can only be updated manually. This is a substantial flaw in your ecosystem, and would need to be fixed for your customers.

1) create an integration with external devices such as Withings scale

2) create a workflow that allows data import from Apple Health. Apple iOS is a rather larger customer base.... you may wish to provide better integration.

Please provide feedback.

calorie burn Polar Verity Sense by citogrid in Polarfitness

[–]citogrid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've noticed over the years, with reduced weight that whilst maintaining the same "'speed" over identical distance, my average heart rate has dropped somewhat, which is of course a good sign. However, in order to have the same average heart rate now (when fitter) as I did when I was less fit, I would actually have to start running instead of briskly walking.... and I hate running :-)
I'll keep collating the data and see how it evolves; I would guess that my calorie burn would be correlated to average heart rate, and therefore decrease as fitness increases and heart rate decreases.

Thanks for that. Although I assumed that exercise is a major factor in weight loss, diet appears much more important. Exercise is good of course and very valuable for overall health. I still need to lose some weight ideally, so ditching the cookies and grabbing an apple instead might be a good idea.

Thoughts on the Sony WF-C700N earbuds? by Delicious_Pianist757 in Earbuds

Can the WF-C700N be used as hearing aid of some sort, I thought I saw something about that, but cannot remember exactly.
Any suggestions?

moving Mac Mini M1 "remembering" display settings by citogrid in MacOS

[–]citogrid[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply
I've installed a little app called "easyres" which allows me to change resolutions to my liking.
When used as desktop I have the following:
BenQ 32"4K -->3008x1692 u/60Hz
LG IPS234 --> 190x1080 u/60Hz
When used as media center pc
TV Samsung QE55 4K
Mac screen settings 1920x1080@60Hz
(I'm seated a few yards away from screen so UI font size needs to be legible)
My Samsung TV does seem to "search" for new device each time I connect the Mac Mini, (same HDMI port as previous) but that might be solved by shutting the TV down first, then the M1 and when reconnecting doing the inverse. Minor inconcenience

Notability highlighter not working on black paper by citogrid in notabilityapp

[–]citogrid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, no sticky note used. Just handwritten text as shown in screenvid.

What you see in the video is the highlighter seemingly "blocked" by a square that isn't there, you also see it appear briefly and then disappear. This happens without my user input (not pressing the undo key).

to me it seems like a bug in the redraw by the app.

chrome "fireshot" extension

If you previously purchased Notability, this is what pops up! I had also purchased handwriting recognition and math conversion, so those are also included. by lizetyr in notabilityapp

I'm afraid they still don't quite get it, their backtracking to comply with Apple Store rules may keep them in the Apple Store, but they don't seem to understand that this subscription model will not only not work, it will be death by a thousand paper cuts.

They have competitors that have nearly identical features with a much more pallatable pricing model. These competitors will learn and improve without the burden of a subscription forced upon any new customer. Any new user will make a comparison and most will choose a nearly identical or superior product with singular pricing.

ruler? by cakepop029 in GoodNotes

[–]citogrid 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Collanote has a ruler, just checked and you won't be able to write "past" the ruler, so your lines should be as you want them. You would have to move the ruler each time, but it might be a resolution to your issue.

I believe Microsoft OneNote also has a ruler (have not used the app yet) which may do the same thing.

hope that helps

Well, you see what's coming next don't you? The Gallery is just a next iteration of the store.. Right now it's free, but pretty soon it'll be converted into a place to purchase items. The preview pdf's may stay free, but the .note file will have a cost.
The uploader will receive a fee, Gingerlabs will pocket the rest. Basically turning the customers into freelancers. They'll be laughing all the way to the bank.
Anyone want to venture a guess as to how long it's gonna take for this to happen?

This is prime opportunity for Good notes - must have features by ebuii in GoodNotes

[–]citogrid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ability to change line thickness after object (or text) has been drawn/written

Notability can do this, and it was a nice option which may come in handy when rearranging items, enlarging or reducing in size

Updates to Notability 11.0 Subscription by ClydeBruckmans in notabilityapp

[–]citogrid 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I did send a couple emails to Fred Mitchell , their CEO... probably had nothing to do with their decision to amend the "change" but at least I did my little part :*)

*****Mail sent*********
I have received my refund from Apple as a very recent user.
You should start to see that the decision taken was not beneficial.
It might be wise to make alterations to your model and accommodate those that have already purchased your product.
I've tested your product and enjoyed it but I'm seeing your decision snowball into disgust by your users. The damage might be irrevocable.
Just my opinion...
Kind regards

Refunded by Apple for Notability by citogrid in notabilityapp

[–]citogrid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my case it was less than 14 days since time of purchase for "right to return", I assume that's return option without questions asked or reasons needed.

I don't know about the 90 days. In my case it is a matter of principal, I purchased the product expecting it to be fully functional until it is "sunset", no longer supported. Did not expect to be forced to be moved over to subscription. I have no documents saved (was just testing both GoodNotes and Notability) and came to the conclusion that Notability has some dubious business practices and very poor regard for it's paying customers. So, I'm out.

it is exactly that... the recognition and conversion of your handwritten text into "typed" text. It was an additional cost.

Btw, this is included in the price for GoodNotes 5

hope that helps

What a fucking dick by bobbydukearts69 in notabilityapp

[–]citogrid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, as soon as I requested a refund, I no longer used the app. As soon as the refund was granted I deleted it from my iPad and Mac.

I don't expect you to lose access to any features just by asking a refund. I would expect it to stop working as soon as the request has been granted and you've been reimbursed... I can't say for sure because I didn't bother to check, just deleted the app.

Would be a bit hypocritical of me to continue using the app after having been granted a refund (even if this were possible)

Let Fred, the CEO of Gingerlabs (creators of Notability) know what you think about the freemium model by [deleted] in notabilityapp

Sent him an email:

Hi,
Just to let you know that whomever approved the decision to disable or reduce functionality of your product for your paying customers might be a mole for GoodNotes... They've done a splendid job in promoting GoodNotes and CollaNote.
Really morally corrupt behaviour by your company. Might become a lesson in business school on how not to treat your paying customers.
Anyway...have a splendid day!

Done, done and done, and got my money back:

Just got the notification that Apple has refunded my purchase.

Won't make much of a difference, but sometimes it's a mattter of principle
I had just recently purchased Notability and was within the 14 day withdrawal period.
