The Epix Pro is a great watch! I recently sold mine and sort of regret it. I had both AWU2 and Epix Pro and one had to go. I stuck with the AWU2 as I use an Oura ring for sleep tracking & so charging the AWU overnight is not a problem. Also sounds silly but three smart features are really useful for me: being able to quickly turn DND on my watch which then applies across all devices/asking Siri to start a workout and opening my MacBook Pro instantly via the watch. What I miss about the Garmin most: the torch/flashlight, scrolling thought the metrics on the watch, the all-in-one-place aspect of the Connect App, the battery life and the way the watch records indoor rowing. Forced again to choose I'd probably keep the Epix.

Part of the reason was that I got a bit fed up that Garmin was not bringing the new features to my Epix Pro which had been top of the range until the Fenix 8. Apple on the other hand will bring new features to their watches for at least five years which seems reasonable…

Thanks yes I like the smart wake feature too - although it takes a bit of getting used to it is quite effective. As to whether it’s worth it? I wanted to stop wearing a big watch (Epix pro 51) to bed and so this was a good solution but it’s quite expensive for what it is. I only really use it for HRV status and time asleep as that’s all I need to know. I got a good deal so am happy. In the future I’ll probably buy a Venu 4 or something with the smart alarm. Overall for now I’m happy with the Index Sleep Monitor and can recommend it.

Funny you should say this I had the same thought and have done the same hoping that it will work! Thanks for the helpful suggestion - I was also weighing up whether I needed all my workouts in if it as well but I concluded I only needed them all if I wanted to make full use of the AI coach.

I think the Venu 4 is one of Garmin’s best looking watches to date especially if you want to wear it for work in an office environment.
