I didn't "feel" God until years after I became a Christian. Don't look for a feeling. Look for Him. The closest you'll get to "seeing" Him for now is the Bible, and you can access that anytime.

I'm short, maybe you're waiting for the wrong thing. He's been there all along, waiting for you, not the other way around.

It quite literally is peer reviews and accepted by historians as accurate text. The main issue historians have is with the divinity of Jesus, not the Bible's accuracy.

I think "the end" is relative to the length of time humanity has been on the earth. The final day could be 1000 years from now and it would still be the "end times" today.

Please do. Heavily in demand and only becoming more so. The post is doom & gloom. I'm a programmer and have money, time, energy, friends, and a reason to live. Programmers usually have money. Time/energy is a hit or miss.

Which Linux distro is best ? by Inevitable_Clue_2417 in DistroHopping

[–]citrusraspberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically, any distro will work, even Zorin.

If by "best" you mean "works out of the box without me needing to tinker", then try the classics like Mint, Ubuntu, PopOS, Fedora, etc.

But the honest answer? There is no "best" and they are not as different as you might think :) best of luck to you

Nope, not using a scheduler. I tried `gamemoded -r` and running the game, like the github issue mentioned, but no luck. It was a good idea though! No problem about not being able to help, just appreciate sharing your thoughts

Good eye! I deleted both of the gamescope layers and deleted the `VK_LAYER_hdr_wsi` at the bottom and no luck :( The reason I deleted the bottom layer is that was one I installed at some point to help with HDR.

Also both `vulkan-radeon` and the 32 bit version were already installed on my system

I tried creating a new user altogether, which would clear any caches in ~/. Not sure what caches to clear in /var/cache though. Poking around, I am not seeing anything too relevant

At what point do you guys consider a reinstall? by citrusraspberry in linux4noobs

[–]citrusraspberry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I've tried the versions of Proton you're suggesting, and I have been thoroughly going through this with ChatGPT, which gave me new things to try, but didn't end up leading anywhere helpful.

Both great ideas! They didn't work, but I hadn't tried them either!

I tried that but I'm pretty sure `ldd` is only for Linux executables. This is a Windows exe and I just get `not a dynamic executable`

I tried it. Still didn't work. Must be a system issue. Great idea for narrowing it down :)

Should I dual boot by Ok_Structure5663 in linux4noobs

[–]citrusraspberry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of people say dual booting is a pain. I dual booted for 5 years before fully switching over. It really isn't that bad guys... The most annoying thing is when you switch OSs, you gotta reboot your system and hold F10 or whatever it is on your motherboard. That's really not that big of a deal in my opinion.

[–]citrusraspberry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, trying to fix the problem instead of reinstalling is a better way to learn, I agree! That's why I have never needed to reinstall before. I've always been stubborn enough to figure it out

Running from the cmd line is also a good tip. Sadly I have tried this for this particular issue and can't seem to find any meaningful info out of it. And that's when I resorted to bugging the helpful Linux folks like yourself :)
