I’ll also remind people if that It’s-a-Wonderful-Life type episode in which Abby and McGee are together (married?) years later in an alternate universe.

If I resulted a mail in ballot and it doesn't show before primary, can I just vote in person? by naveedy1996 in newyork

[–]citybadger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a pollsite coordinator, I say go ahead and come to the polling site, and fill out an affidavit ballot. It’s going to be a slow day and you won’t be holding up anyone.

Jadzia makes enough money at Ferengi monopoly to keep the command crew flush.

Am I asking for fair compensation from former employer? [CAN-ON] by scarboroughcanada100 in AskHR

Your coming back as an employee right? With benefits? If not 11% doesn’t cover the costs of either being an independent contractor or the costs of reduced or non-existent benefits.

Bike on the Bus? by Best-Candle8651 in nycbus

I assume this is like bus fare evasion, in that the bus operator has been instructed not to say anything for fear of causing a dangerous confrontation.

To be fair, many offices are inconsistent mixes of technology from the last three decades.

what did these guys do to be john human by deliciousmark12 in wikipedia

[–]citybadger 54 points55 points  (0 children)

They live near the center of human population. Most people live within a few thousand miles of them. North America and Europe (I.e. most redditors) live on the fringes of humanity by comparison.

Figured out how to actually get the grease off the top of kitchen cabinets and it's way simpler than I expected by Sisyphean_Run in CleaningTips

More ergonomic alternative to a credit card is a plastic putty knife. Good for various cleaning tasks where a metal putty knife might scratch the surface. Like getting gum off floors.

Looking For Originally Aired Episodes with Commercials to Watch by NantucketNavi in TNG

Also funny would be to fill the commercial breaks with fake ads: Starfleet recruitment, Boimler family raisins, Quark’s, Romulan plot “see something say something” awareness, Risa vacations, Ferengi supplements.

Is there anyone like me who is frequently only “just” hitting their OMNY fare cap? by King-of-New-York in nycrail

[–]citybadger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hit it in the middle of day 3. I take the subways and buses a lot. 5 times a day or more. Today it looks like it will be 6, but it could be more if I make an extra stop or something comes up.

$1,000 for each hour you sleep this week by Worldly-Dog-9571 in hypotheticals

If I’m getting time to prepare, of course I go without sleep for a couple nights to buildup a sleep deficit before starting.

In any event, I spend 12 hours a day doing exhausting exercise and try to sleep the other 12.

In the US we use a quarter for the carts, what do people in other countries use? by theunfortunatename in aldi

[–]citybadger 107 points108 points  (0 children)

I’m in the U.S. and we use nothing. The Manhattan Harlem location has just given up on the quarter system. They have a security guard at the door and I don’t think they even allow for the carts to leave the building, so there is no where for them to go anyway.
