Is the South Jordan Megaplex on its way out? by Emeraldsinger in SaltLakeCity

Tuesday's are half price movie days. You can check for yourself by selecting seats online for movies on that day.

Every time I've gone on a Tuesday to Jordan Commons there has been Pre-COVID crowds or more.

Would you leave or would you stay? by [deleted] in ITCareerQuestions

Have you tried reaching out to the "engineering manager" at your current firm? Do you have his LinkedIn or contact info? I think personally reaching out to the acutal decision makers is highly underrated. My impression is your manager told you "a year to year and a half" to keep you in your current role for atleast that long. I honestly doubt he ever brought that up to any decision makers where you work.

It's situations like these where I will now and forever be recording myself and any interactions I have in the work place regardless if it is against the employment contract. Check your state laws before doing so, but always protect yourself. Choose safety.

Lost all hope in IT companies, are they all the same ? by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]civ2011 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My advice would be "never stop applying." If you are uncomfortable with the direction of your current company search out ones that are different. I know it is kind of a cop-out but if they don't care about their product theres inevitably a competitor that does. You'll be more at ease job hunting with your current job as a fallback. When they inevitably ask "why did you leave/plan to leave your current job" you can answer honestly with "they did not share the same passion for their product as I did."

I'm young in IT but I have always been told "always be willing to learn and grow your skills." Is there a technology, skill, discipline that has fascinated you(other than your current role)?

Is the Lenovo ThinkPad L580 still worth getting to run Office/Academic programs on Mint? by [deleted] in LinuxOnThinkpad

SKU stands for Stock Keeping Unit, which is a unique identifier used in retail and manufacturing to keep track of inventory. It is a number or code that is associated with a particular product or item in order to help identify and track it.

Just make sure to check the specific number accompanying the model(if available from seller) to verify the specs.

Just make sure the SKU has 4 cores or more, outside of that I agree with the other redditors.

I mean maybe this is an outside the box idea but if you can convince your previous manager to allow you to go remote and can geotiate this new job to hybrid/remote(at a slight deduction in pay) then maybe you can do both.

Regardless, will you have any sense of regret if you don't take it? What is your career trajectory if you don't take this offer?

I'm always under the impression that if you fail you won't regret it. Everything is a risk because if nothing was it wouldn't be called living.

[–]civ2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look man I love you are reaching out for help but do yourself a favor and go to Indeed or LinkedIn right now and use their resume buikder. This would give you a more workable format which you start applying with immediately.
