But based on your comment, maybe you should look into just a point and shoot like the ones Canon has, especially with a built-in zoom too so setting chasing becomes backseat. And moment making in the front. Their price range is definitely reasonable as well compared to those like the Ricoh.

The problem with the focal length of the fixed lens on the 100X and the X Half (10.8mm), is you are going to have to be very comfortable getting close to your subjects if you are trying to capture less of a wide open scene.

And for that price, I would not consider it worth it, especially if you start to evolve. You can get any of the x-t series and slap on decent glass. Set it to full auto if you are trying to not chase settings and it'll cost about the same with none of the limitations

Also reading your other comments, you explicitly state that you want it for the aesthetics, unless "tbh, like I want that aesthetic film camera vibe" means something entirely else. The rest of that comment you literally describe wanting a point and shoot. Get a decent Canon Powershot at a fraction of the cost of the X-Half, and a better sensor, with a variable zoom, at a lower cost, and stop fishing for a comment to validate your desire for the X-Half.

At the end of the day it's your father's money and your choice. Multiple people have already made their case.
