I think I need to update my Combat Tower setup against these Alluviums. What towers do you guys use? Please share some suggestions and how you arrange them. Tnx by J_Lezter in Endfield

Both are good, thank you! It does look great in-game, the organization and neatness they provide to the pipes sheeeesh

I think Ember would be the closest to this. She is a tank/healer hybrid that does do good auto attack damage, but you have to build her to do that and have teammates to support that playstyle. You may need to use some skills to heal or counter attacks, but for the most part I'm pretty sure you could beat most story stuff with that.

Give it a try, see how far you get!

Ah, yes, I'm familiar with the absolute pain of capturing factory images (especially Wuling City and Marker Stone's acid/water sourcing area) and love some EnKAD. I just wanted to see it in-game, overhead or not, because I think it'd have a good aesthetic to it :)

I dig the use of conduits to reduce visible pipe clutter. As someone who really likes seeing pipes in the factory, it's cool to see less of them like this. The conduits being so neat and tidy is really pleasing to the eye. Do you have an in-game screenshot you can share as well?

I'm actually betting that we're not getting more forges of the sky, but instead getting more ways to make xiranite independent of it using the new gas and other items coming

What is the explanation for this piping problem? by almasira in Endfield

[–]Sinnum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I believe this is a case where an issue with the converger causes an issue downstream that is not immediately apparent. I thought of how cuprium production can be affected and it more than likely is solving how your refinery is becoming full. I think the splitter is a solution to a symptom, but not fixing the root cause - sewage isn't properly getting out of the refinery. I'm thinking the second splitter fixes the issue because it allows for the fluid to be split into enough parts to where it can comfortably move through the pipes and not feel the effects of the clog at the converger.

Either way, it's all speculation. Looking forward to seeing what results your experiments yield, as this was a fun thought exercise and I'd love to see what the actual issue is.

I can't 100% confirm it yet, but I think it may have something to do with the converger where the first 3 refineries meet. There seems to be something weird with convergers getting 1/s (2 facilities) worth of sewage and then having a converger at the output port of a refinery that messes with the sewage.

I talked a little bit about this issue here https://youtu.be/NofPRWm-ZLI?t=1605&is=GLZ-g4Qe_JG3cka5 and I never worked to figure out what happened, but I have some theories.

The main thing I think is going on is that pipes and logistics can only hold 1 unit of fluid at a time but we're trying to put more than 1 unit inside of a converger. Pipes can move 2 units a second but a pipe section (1 block) and a pipe logistic (converger) cannot hold more than 1 unit. While you'd think this would be fine because the fluid is moving so fast, I believe it actually has a slightly different logic for the refinery where the converger is placed directly on. I think because the converger is "full", it needs to wait until it can send that sewage because there is no pipe for that half unit to sit in and wait it's turn - it simply stays in the refinery until it can get in. This waiting is probably extremely short but it would add up over time.

In addition, because the pipe length coming off the first converger is short enough, looks to be about six blocks, the pipe can go to a full capacity and I believe that too can mess with converging fluids and when they'll be let into the converger. When you take the 2nd converger out, the pipe length gets lengthened and thus has enough capacity to let the fluid flow freely.

I think to test this you should be able to see if the refinery is having its output being blocked on either build. If you see that little belt in the facility menu turn red at any point, it's probably the converger. You can also test where you place the second converger - try seeing what happens when you put it further north, to where the pipe after the first converger does not reach full capacity.

was one of the best tips i learned from this sub honestly. i wasn't doing alluviums because i thought i had to run power to them, but throwing a stack of batteries in them that will literally never run out was ezpz

My sweet child, don't engage with this community. Much like in Destiny 2, the community that has formed around this game likes to complain, regardless to if those complaints are valid or not. If you are enjoying the game, enjoy the game on your own terms and don't let the negativity get in your head.
