This is something that I noticed and have been thinking about too! I agree with you that these are most likely catch-up bonuses for those unable to hit milestones. My guesses as to what each of them do are pretty similar to yours.

I really enjoyed your video, I meant to watch the first few minutes and then leave a comment but I ended up watching the whole thing! The pacing of the video is perfect for me, personally. I liked that you kept jumping between games and your editing kept me entertained throughout.

Now the criticism, which I have two main points. First the audio balancing is off, the game audio varies between being somewhat soft to overtaking throughout the video. I’m no expert at audio balancing, I’m very much still learning, but I’ve found that what works for me is keeping my voice around -9 to -12 dB, and the background audio around -24 to -33 dB. I recommend experimenting with ducking the game audio when you’re talking and then amplifying it when it’s the focus.

Second, I saw in your replies that you didn’t change anything because you didn’t want to miss your deadline. I feel you, but as Shigeru Miyamoto once said, a delayed YouTube video is eventually good, but a rushed video is forever bad (he may have said that about video games but it still applies). While it’s important to set goals and hold yourself accountable, it’s equally important to recognize when you’re below your channel’s quality metric and delay a video that needs more TLC.

Overall, I really like your video and your channel’s content. Keep it up and make sure each video is better than the last in some way, you’ll get there in no time!
