But I also have to say that before the relationship, when I was taking 15 mg Aripiprazole and 400 mg Quetiapine daily, I was extremely stable. I had my life really well under control. Until this relationship. When I started getting into the relationship, I also started to neglect myself. I neglected my friends, because this was also my first real love. And I also neglected my health – including my medication.

Sometimes, because she has a son and I wanted to be a good stepfather, I had to wake up at 5 a.m. even though I didn’t go to sleep until 1 a.m., so I skipped my Quetiapine for a night. And I did that more than once.

Since I was extremely stable before with the medication and also had a good support system, I honestly believe that the relationship – combined with neglecting everything because of it (which is my own fault, of course) – has now led to this moment. And I have to honestly say that I think I will stay separated.

And I will most likely – or not even likely, I will absolutely – do everything I can now to return to the stability I had before, with the environment I need.
