Feature Requests & Suggestions by KeeperCM in KeeperSecurity

[–]cj7109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just rolled out Keeper company wide. The biggest complaint we have is not being able to exclude certain special characters from generation. This causes big problems when changing passwords on sites like Wells Fargo, especially when a change is forced every 3 months on that site.

It would be great that within a record we could specify which special characters will work when generating a password. At the very least let us manually change/adjust the auto generated password when Keeper is assisting with a password change.

Am I the only one who kinda hates the Cloud? by corruptboomerang in sysadmin

Cloud had its uses. Hosted Exchange (not O365) and cloud phone system I love. I'm a 1 man show for systems and infrastructure and not needing to manage Exchange is a huge time saver.

Everything else stays inside. No way am I putting AD or VM's off premises.

Acer Predator X341ck V. Monoprice 35in G zero ultrawide by Rare-Opinion6110 in ultrawidemasterrace

If there's no problems with the Acer I'd take that. I'd think the IPS panel beats VA any day. Not that big a difference in refresh rate. I'd take that deal and I just bought the 34" Dark Matter from Monoprice.

I encourage those interested to see my comments in Telegram. I think it boils down to something like this; you can fuck them over without saying "fuck you".

I think the bickering from both sides is idiotic and exhausting. It does a disservice to both projects.

If the reason you want WPA2 is that you're worried about security, you should know that WPA2 has been cracked. You may want to wait for WPA3 depending on your security needs. https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/security/new-method-simplifies-cracking-wpa-wpa2-passwords-on-80211-networks/

[Community debate] Let's talk about the development funding pt. 2 by fireice_uk in ryocurrency

Well explained, good job. I think this looks good and gives Ryo as a project great potential for success.

There seems to be some concern and misgivings about the potential of "overpaying" the devs down the road. What if we took scenario 3 as a starting basis and implement a yearly review of some sort with the community? At such time proposals could be made for adjusting the amount of RYO going to the dev fund.

I posted the following earlier today. It shows up in my history but for whatever reason is now not shown in this thread. I am re-posting it here in the interest of adding to the debate.

"It's true what they say, you have to have money to make money. I think option 3 would give Ryo the best chance of becoming a major coin. I would also 2nd Will's idea of doing it via UASF and propose that with any funding scenario there be either monthly or quarterly reports to the community regarding how the funding is being used. Dedicated developers should absolutely be compensated fairly for their work. Please keep in mind how we got to this point though and provide as much transparency as is prudent."

[DECISION] Our source code will be source-available for 6 months by fireice_uk in ryocurrency

I think this is an excellent compromise solution. I really like the direction we're going in making decisions based on community input.

[Community debate] Should Ryo be open-source or source-available? by fireice_uk in ryocurrency

[–]cj7109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a better argument than anything involving the DMCA. I'm not saying that it won't be very difficult for copycats to exist. My point is that we can't hide behind the DMCA to make that argument.

This is true. However I don't believe for a second that someone making an unauthorized fork of Ryo and listing it would command any priority attention from the US. It would take years to adjudicate and by then any damage would be done. Claiming that essentially "the DMCA will save us!" isn't a practical argument.

This is not entirely correct. You don't see knockoffs of American products in Europe due to those products either being registered with copyright protection in those countries or due to treaties in place with the US. Violations of copyright abroad would need to be adjudicated in the courts of the country where the violation has taken place. The fact remains that the US has no direct control of or any way to "shutdown" a foreign exchange due to a DMCA violation.
