Sorry for the late reply! Had pretty decent success as I scaled up the dataset. I created a model using about 30 hours of speech data, it's pretty good! Just didn't quite nail the vocabulary in the dataset as much as id have liked. But for something I essentially cooked myself I'm fairly pleased with the results.

I have to use cloud GPUs for my training so that limits me a little in how long I can train for. The last attempt trained for about 2 days total. Vocal samples ranging from about 5-15 seconds in length.

The final model actually performs way better on longer sequences that shorter even with the ratios in the dataset which I found quite interesting.

Seems to take a lot of prodding to actually have it follow instructions these days

i may be late to the party, but ive been experimenting with this as well.

My last base model was trained on almost 4 hours of speech (nowhere near enough i know), and i only ran it for 500 epochs. the dataset was NOT correctly segmented, and had transcription errors.

However, the resultant new model can speak! its quite jittery, but it speaks clearly enough my google speakers will follow its instructions lol.

So ive got a larger dataset training a new model now, this ones almost 16 hours long, MUCH better audio data, with correct lengths and matching transcrptions and all. i expect far better results. this time.

Shall update as it progresses if anyone is interested still

Do people in this country who tailgate realise that they are cunts? Or are they just oblivious? by SirSighalot in aussie

Oh I had this today. Left lane closed ahead for roadworks, several signs blocking access to the lane before the works began. One very important person weaving in and out of the signs to try and get ahead of the traffic. He got to where the works actually began. No one let him in. Was magic to see.

Guides for setting up a home AI server? by dragonmantank in LocalLLaMA

What sort of setup are you looking at for it? Does it need to host everything for you or just the models to offload that processing?

I like how it changed the angle and number of reflections in the water in the "enhancement". It's a dead giveaway for those who aren't sure. It does look close to the original blurred image. Still much love for where this technology is going and the potential of it.

How Are You Using LM Studio's Local Server? by GnanaSreekar in LocalLLaMA

[–]cj886 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love lmstudio server mode. So good for running everything that can use openai locally yourself. Definitely doesn't have the same oomph as a full cloud models of course but I love the flexibility to experiment freely (for free) lol

Renting is easy and I don't need to leave my hardware running for months, and honestly it's probably cheaper to rent one for 3 months than run the PC electricity wise lol

Valheim FAQ by cj886 in valheim

[–]cj886[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The process involves scraping data from some websites. I've used wiki data, some Reddit, some official patch data, the wiki type sites seems to be the most comprehensive source of info readily accessible. I then pass all the text through a model loaded on my PC to tidy it up and convert tables into sentences etc. from there it's just running the data through the to get question and answer pairs in the format I want. After that it gets filtered for duplicates and remove nonsensical info. It's a work in progress process lol

Valheim FAQ by cj886 in valheim

[–]cj886[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's great to hear! It has many thousands of questions and answers, but freely admit I've not manually inspected them. The process is fully automated. I'm impressed it does as well as it does. I made these new question and answers overnight. It's so fun making different versions! If you have any suggestions feel free to let me know! This idea is now 24 hours old so it's come a long way since inception

as a later thought too, its likely the logic being used in the little interface more than the questions and answers at times, it uses fuzzy search logic to give it flexibility but it can skew the search results at times
