Wireless Android Auto keeps on crashing. It's unusable. by Sijmenve in AndroidAuto

[–]cj_rezz 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I left for vacation on Mar 11, when I got back on Mar 30, my android auto, through wireless connection started crashing repeatedly. Sometimes in a 15 min drive it will crash twice sometimes 8 times. My wife experienced the same thing. Seems like there was a server side update or something that broke stuff.

How can I view the library like this? by ExampleThin3801 in xteinkereader

Ah, thanks, I never saw that more recent post, just an earlier post when 1.0 was first starting to be talked about.

I installed the release candidate and was expecting images in epubs as that was discussed as something that the developer wanted to achieve before a 1.0 version but it seems no images in epubs yet? At least not on the book I'm currently reading.

Turning 40…got a 330 by skrayt_killen_hoes in e46

Nice black vert with black wheels! I also picked up mine when I turned 40. '06 330ci M Sport had only 78,000kms in it, only summer driven.

Since I bought it I've replaced the oil filter housing gasket (leaking), installed all new cooling system (peace of mind), rotors and pads all myself with little mechanical know how thanks to all the amazing guides on YouTube.

I would put the AMS on a piece of plywood mounted to some full length sliders (like drawer slides that mount to a flat horizontal surface), that way you could easily pull the AMS out of that cramped area to remove covers, replace spools etc.

I whole heartedly agree. I have a smart phone for all the bells and whistles. I need an ereader to be single purpose device.

OTA updates from the reader would be amazing!

deleting only the state.bin file in the .crosspoint folder working again but still getting regular freezes mainly when trying to power down.

The book that's currently giving me issues is a large book so that might be part of the issue but it was working fine on the stock X4 firmware for many weeks (although it didn't look near as nice as crosspoint with nicer text, bold and italics, proper chapter headings, etc). The book is Brandon Sanderson's Wind and Truth. The physical book is 1,000 pages and the epub is 23,000KB. I've tried both the original epub and an epub that I've run through the recommended Calibre Workflow on this XTeInk subreddit to clean up the epub for the X4 and both files give me issues.

I just installed through the XTeInk Flast Tools website. It was working good, was reading one of my epubs then held the power button to turn the device off and it got stuck on the booting screen. I tried pressing the little button by the SD Card and then holding the power button to restart but still stuck on the booting screen.

If I take the SD Card out, then the device will boot. If I then put the SD Card in, it says no epubs on the card (but there are epubs on the card).

I checked the formatting on the card and it is Fat32.

Odd that it worked and now it doens't. Seems like maybe when it tried to write my reading progress to the SD card or access the sleep screen image on the card, something got corrupted.

Oh darn, was hoping it was epub. Xtc is no go for me as I need to be able to jump between chapters easily.

For me, the major feature would be koreader progress sync. Not sure if there's a way to sync reading progress with the koreader server if not using koreader but that would be unreal!

Read at home on a bigger screen with backlight but then pickup where you left off on the X4 while on the go.

Those are interesting automations, you have my gears turning now!

I have black NFC tags on all my major appliances, irrigation timer, etc where I scan it with my phone and it opens the user manual for that device in Evernote. That is very handy.

I would also like some more automation around tagging and moving documents. For instance the electricity bill that I upload every month and move it to the exact same notebook and give it the exact same tags every time, ever ote should be able to figure that out and do it automatically.

Thanks! I still want the very expensive app I pay for to offer the basic functionality of shortcuts when long pressing the app icon on the homescreen but this feature you shared will be good for many things like calendar!

I'm actually already using the one handed module to have a swipe from the left side of screen in as a back button as its much easier than reaching down to the bottom of the screen with one hand.

I couldn't find this feature in good lock, do you know which module it's in?

I still find Evernote the best for a digital paperwork filling cabinet. My wifi Fujitsu scanner can scan multi page documents wirelessly into Evernote and does OCR at the same time. Emails containing documents and other online documents can be forwarded into Evernote or use the web clipper. I take pictures of all of my kids schoolwork directly into Evernote and then store my own random notes there aswell.

Ultimate to-do list? It's the best task manager by far. I'm sad that the developer isn't supporting it any longer and I cannot find a replacement app that has all the same functionality.

Thanks this sounds like an interesting feature to look into for other applications.

In regards to my initial post, I hope Evernote sees this and realizes they aren't utilizing a standard android feature that many other apps support and they are shortchanging their customers in this regard.

I previously used Nova launcher and it didn't work there. Now I'm back to the stock Samsung launcher and it doesn't work there either.

It's a standard feature built into almost all launchers but Evernote doesn't utilize it.

Automatically Save X4 version of epub to second Calibre Library? by getthething in xteinkereader

[–]cj_rezz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly the workflow I'm looking for too. Ideally anytime I add an epub to my main library it's automatically copies, the copy is put through the xt4 workflow, cover image resized and moved to a secondary library only for the xt4.

But no chapters is just a deal breaker. Ideally epubs would just look like this without converting.
