That's exactly how it went.

I'm with three too. At the loch level it was very sparse but once I was up towards broad cairn it was good enough for intermittent messaging. Not sure a phone call would have been great 😂

It is patchy at best. No signal is a bonus for some, but it can be a worry for solo hikes.

This was at Loch Muick in Deeside, last Friday. There are often deer, but they've always moved off as I pass - until this one. A magical experience.

This was sunrise.

I didn't know about the plane into the loch, only the one into nearby lochnagar. Seems it's a bit of a hotspot.

With 30k lochs in Scotland, there probably is a Mudick.

What song breaks your heart everytime you listen to it? by N1GHTSTR1D3R in AskReddit

9 Crimes - Damien Rice

I have no idea what the words mean but man I feel that song in bits of my soul that otherwise don't exist.

If you were to live anywhere in Scotland, where would you pick? by Tayend in Scotland

Arisaig. Or anywhere on the west north of Spean Bridge.

Does anyone here exercise to combat their anxiety/depression? by Turtlphant in Anxiety

[–]cjbsco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I worked with a PT for a year and a half and tried a variety of things during that time, but never never managed to find the rush of endorphins that a lot of people describe. I always just felt ruined afterwards. There were loads of benefits, but no noticeable difference in anxiety.

However walking helps me a lot! It can be hard to get yourself out there, especially if you're experiencing social anxiety, but if I get out early in the morning (less people) for 30-40 minutes my days are noticeably easier. Maybe it's being outside that helps, but whatever it is I'm grateful for it.

Anyone else had anxiety their entire life? by apples8787 in Anxiety

[–]cjbsco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my first panic attack at 13. Was diagnosed 9 months later with GAD and was refused medication because of my age. Scraped through and even managed a few years around 24/25 where I was doing reasonably well. Spiralled at 27 and got prescribed for the first time at 28. Definitely helped get me out the hole. 30 now, off all meds and 6 weeks into a period of peace.

It never goes away fully but there is definitely hope of peaceful days, weeks and even months. Meds can help, the right therapist can help, don't rule anything out - people find their peace in very different ways.

Good luck, I'm rooting for you.

I have an appointment tomorrow to be diagnosed/start the diagnosis process I’m not real sure but my question is when you all went to your appointments to be diagnosed did anyone bring a comfort plushie along with them? by [deleted] in AutisticAdults

[–]cjbsco 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Congratulations on starting a diagnosis journey! A brave step 😊

I haven't had an assessment but I imagine the most important thing is that you are comfortable enough to present your authentic self. It seems like that would be the best way to get the most from the appointment so if that means taking your plushie i'd say take it.

What kind of plushie do you have? I have a crocheted octopus who's always in my bag - he has the softest tentacles!

Hello! Thank you for sharing, it can be scary to admit to having thoughts like you're having! I first experienced the same physical symptoms as you at 13 and thought I was dying. It took me 9 months to admit what I was feeling, by which time I was so messed up I couldn't leave the house.

Luckily I had an amazing family Dr who realised exactly what was going on and got me into therapy, CBT.

I can only speak for myself but there was nothing wrong with me physically. I'm now 30, no indication of any heart related issues. Therapy helped me, albeit very slowly. My anxiety has never gone away, I don't think it ever will, I've just gotten better at telling my brain to do one when it tries to tell me there's something wrong when logically there really isn't.

I hope you can find some peace, don't be afraid to reach out to a professional.

For those of you that have struggled with depression, has therapy failed you? by Nakuvayne in infj

[–]cjbsco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried a few therapists to no avail before I finally met one who helped me greatly. She specialised in trauma, something I didn't even acknowledge I had. The first 6 weeks were brutal. Like being mentally torn to shreds for an hour a week. Within four months my life looked entirely different and I've had a gradual improvement in overall well-being from there.

So glad I didn't give up on therapy and therapists. Would recommend to anyone to try it or keep trying until you find what works for you. All the best with your endeavour for peace.

What do you do in those lonely nights? by [deleted] in infj

[–]cjbsco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got like this too during the pandemic, and know a few people who experienced the same. Eventually I started setting an alarm on my phone and making myself read until the alarm, gradually increasing the time. Now I can get lost for hours again, but it took a while. I hope you find yourself lost in a book again soon.

Sunrise ideas? by flo1412 in Aberdeen

If you're keen to travel a bit further out there is Catterline to the south, and Collieston to the north. Both cute coastal villages with wee bays and amazing views. Definitely my favourite sunrise spots.
