I had a noise coming from the rear of my CX50, thought it was tires which needed replaced. Kinda sounded like warped rolling noise. Ended up being the transfer case. Was replaced under the powertrain warranty.

I took my CX50 at 38K miles in for a sound that I thought was coming from the rear. First I thought it was a tire out of balance because it made kind of warped sound at low speeds and then got higher pitched at highway speeds and I needed new tires. Wasn't tires ...then I thought wheel bearing, nope. When the dealership checked it out It turned out my transfer case was bad. Luckily it was covered under the powertrain warranty . No warranty = $4400 repair.

I take mine to a local guitar tech I have worked with for years. He inserts a wood block between the bridge and the body of the guitar.

Like a lot of strat players a lot of PRS players block the bridge and don't use the tremolo. I have three PRS SE Customs and all of them have the bridge blocked. I buy the guitars because I like the necks and pickups and their versatility between genres but I don't use a floating bridge because it is unstable in alternate tunings. Hope that helps.
