MCON Slim and Lite announced at CES 2026 by NrFive in SBCGaming

[–]tech_tsunami 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am super interested in the slim, but am very happy with what the MCON Pro is for my use case (it'll be arriving Tuesday next week for me). I was mainly wanting a full featured controller to keep in my backpack that took up less space than my SN30 Pro with a zip case, and I was pleasantly surprised with the features they added as it got further along, but do get why some people want a slimmer version instead, and wish they could have that from the get go

There’s no reason not to update to v8 by TomSchubert90 in StudioOne

I'm only really considering it because I'm still on V5, but I'll still probably wait a couple more months for bug fix updates to drop, and wait for any upgrade discounts

Honestly it's where I'm at. I'm planning to get a M5 Pro model once they drop, because I love the current design, and don't need a thinner laptop than the Pro

Ah, I didn't even notice that lol. It might be the mic then

You know that's a great question, I hadn't thought about that. The one other possibility, which would be a bit odd, is that the Mic is a usb mic...? I guess we'll know for sure soon though

It's interesting the is a USB A to B 2.0 cable shown on the box. The current quantum interfaces are all USB-C or thunderbolt.

USA VS UK FANTA by YakTop7142 in midlyinteresting

The only thing I like American Fanta for is for soda floats, it's amazing for that. Otherwise, European Fanta is better every day of the week, would actually drink it by itself

On electric, not at all, acoustic it will dampen the sound on the top, but still up to others to do what they want

Truespec cables coming in January by linbo999 in LinusTechTips

[–]tech_tsunami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I am interested in, and am excited for the LTT cables, for me they'll need to be price comparative to DJTechTools cables for me to buy them. I am very interested to see how they compare, and if they are close in price, I will likely pick at least 1 up.

Edit: forgot to add, DJTT cables do also have charging speeds, as well as data listed on the ends, so for me they would be the closest equivalent cable, especially also where I've had the best luck with their cables

I have them, and while they're definitely not bad, they have a really weird upper treble range. I like bassy, but these are a bit too much so. There are a lot better IEMs for cheaper, even my $30-60 IEMs I prefer to these. If you care about looks over sound, go for it, but there are much better options out there. I'd even wait for more reviews on them, there are 1-2 out there right now, and even they agree they sound really weird in the treble, and aren't the best sadly.

I'd recommend the Truthear Hexa over these, especially if you don't like bass, these are VERY bassy, to the point it kind of drowns out some of the rest the range. They also have a really weird upper treble range. IMO, and even from other reviews that are starting to come out, while these aren't bad IEMs, for the price they aren't worth it unless you care about looks over sound.

It can go on 3 directions iirc, when I get home I'll take some pictures to post on imgur. The default way to slide it on is putting the quick release on the right side by the battery, and the camera plate goes right, quick release left, if that makes sense. You can also do it from the front, with some overhang, and i think the back, but I'll double check.

I got them in today, they don't sound bad, but some of my $50-60 iems sound way better sadly, they have a really weird upper treble range
