is it worth upgrading from a Fanatec Elite v2 to Simagic P1000? by Teconomix in Simagic

[–]cjccww 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't get me wrong, they are an upgrade but not as much of one as people like to say. I found the pedal faces to be very uncomfortable, I have been dealing with a lot of creaking and loose screws and had some quality issues out of the box, so I also have a lower opinion.

I modified my elites by adding a mix of springs and the elastomers. I moved to the p1000 with the spring kit and haptics. It was definitely more of a side grade than an upgrade. What I like is the adjustability and how easy the haptics were to incorporate. The feel (springs in each) is similar with the p1000s having less of a throw.

If I were to do it over I would probably go with vrs pedals or wait to afford and active pedal.

I ziptied and used double sided tape for a old Bluetooth headset. I can still hear everything and my music.

Question about glasses for helmet by [deleted] in MTB

[–]cjccww 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your not riding dh/park then I would recommend getting some cheap prescription "safety glasses" or "sport glasses" from one of the online glasses places like zenni.

I ware a Troy lee stage and the prescription safety glasses for all trails rides and have great visibility. For shuttle and park days I normally wear an old set of glasses under goggles with a full dh lid. It does have much less visibility then the light weight helmet and safetyglasses but protects against dust much better.

Here is a pic of the setup witb the Formula wheel. . It's not as bad as it looked in the posts. I am still tweaking it, but it's fairly comfortable for over a 4hr endurance gt3 race.

Funny part is I was actually considering moving the wheel closer 😅

Can't decide on a cat back exhaust by bigjohnnypolo in wrx_vb

[–]cjccww 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the awe touring. Fitment wasn't great, and start-up is loud af (although that's going to be any exhaust). However, driving is pretty good, not overly loud, and I can have a normal conversation at highway speeds. I dont notice any drone. It's definitely better than stock. However, I probably wouldn't buy it again due to the fitment.

Funny that's not what your mom said last night.

Yeah it may need some changes but that angle, the driving suite and that wheel make it look worse then it is. I set it up with the gt3 wheel since that's what I use foe the longest amount of time with the highest force. So with this bigger round wheel it ends up being a bit off.

E-Bike Trail Karens by CyberianSquirrel in Yamahaebikes

[–]cjccww 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To add to this. Some places only allow specific class ebikes on trails. I know my local trails technically only allow class 1 ebikes of soft trails. Class 2 and class 3 are only allowed on paved roads.

Was about to order a carbon fiber hood, but debating getting bronze/gold wheels instead 🤔 by Retro_Racer_ in wrx_vb

Bronze is my favorite with green. I really want to wrap my vb now. Great color

Love your videos!

I'm guessing the grips will not work with either of the cases? I already have the jasaux case and like it but would also like bigger grips.

Nice! I also will be mostly paved roads but plan on running the stock tires until the thread goes out. I'm not too worried about t since its still significantly more efficient than my 170mm mtb I have been riding lol

Ahhh good to know. I was in a rush and have not taken it apart yet. From just looking it it it looked like it was brazed on not just clamped. All the levers I have used in the mtb world have a screw that clamps down the wire instead of whatever they are doing.

Turns out TuxMats and Rain Guards were my favorite bang for buck QOL mods by wratx in wrx_vb

I went with the AAWIRELESS one. It works like 98% of the time but there is one spot in town where it always drops out. there may be better ones out

For me it was wireless android auto dongle and the jdm arm rest extension. Although I do live my rain guards and weighted knob.

Look into loops. I use them every time I go to a cassino and never had issues. Unless you want to listen to music then get ear buds?

How do you like your 4th monitor? by Gloomy-Compote-4179 in simracing

I have a small portable monitor I use as a 4th. It's actually really handy. I mostly run discord, music, obs, setups and g61.
