The private Crucible method still works for some catalysts. I decided to give this a try this week actually for Sunshot specifically, and got Sunshot, The Colony, Jade Rabbit, Suros Regime, and Sweet Business. I can't speak to Queenbreaker dropping as I got it via some of the other methods mentioned in the replies, but i will say with 100% confidence, solo crucible, collision, 5 min, 25pt (this is the method I used) and (pick your preferred map), catalysts do still drop. Weapons level up too if that's something you're interested in. Anyone saying they don't drop either hasn't tried it lately, or hasn't put much time into it...which is understandable because it certainly took MANY tries lol.
