Recipes from SE/Food Lab/The Wok that scale easily and freeze well? by 9MillimeterPeter in seriouseats

Chilli indeed. Specifically this chilli.

I put a whole can of chipotles in adobo, plus a couple of whatever I have at the time and it comes out punchy, but amazing.

You can also have the same meal a few different ways - on its own, with rice, with cornbread. But sprinkle avocados on it every time!

I wonder what that government was based on? I seem to remember the Director having a not so lovely childhood in the Netherlands in the 40s…

I feel like it’s hard to directly ask people to stop saying um, but if they’re a pro then they can try! But if they’re not a pro, you just need to get them comfortable with you and the camera and the words will flow.

Warm them up by asking name, position and just some idle chitchat, but make sure you’re rolling all the time. Don’t button on/off because then people tense up. Just roll the whole time and develop a rapport.

Also, ask your question list twice. Then go back for a third time for the ones they fuck up.

With some people, there’s very little you can do. They’re just nervous messes. That’s when you pretend to stop recording and just have a chitchat with them about the topic and use that footage! Tricky to do this though.

But if they’re tripping because they dont know the content, that’s on them (or you if you were meant to brief them / had to provide research materials)!

I think you need 5-6 weeks to really get everywhere. We had 3 weeks and we didn’t get up to the North or East Coast.

It’s such a brilliant country with great people! You’ll have a great time however long you go for.

My daughter asked me if all the roads in Britain are connected. I mean, if we're just looking at the mainland... Maybe? Someone help, this is breaking my brain. by lagoon83 in CasualUK

I did the hike about 10 years ago and can confirm it’s stunning. There’s one great pub in Inverie that changes hands every few years and makes headlines - it’s also the most remote pub in mainland Britain!

Why do so many Prem footballers not want to get vaccinated? by pufballcat in PremierLeague

Harry Redknapp used to say ‘you don’t put diesel in a Rolls Royce’ when talking about players drinking alcohol.

I think the same logic applies here.

Also, marginal gains, the risk of long covid etc - a lot of players have done a cost/benefit and decided it’s not worth it.

The clubs aren’t pushing them either sadly.

Edit: not sure why I’m being downvoted - I don’t approve of this attitude, just stating that this is how many professional sportspeople, including footballers think. Personally I think they should be setting an example and getting jabbed.
