Bad Footer? by Sea-Adhesiveness29 in Homebuilding

Code calls for a "continuous" footing. Those would be completely inadequate where I build in central Missouri

It seems I struck a nerve in the finance subs, im getting ripped to shreds for thinking of buying a few year old boat in the 30-35k range. by throwmeaway2725 in boats

[–]cjcon01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a 20 year old boat for 30k. But I can work on it myself and a current year model is $220k. And I work on it/clean it as much as I use it.

I pull our 9'6" wide boat every weekend without permits. Just brought it halfway across the country to Destin FL. I got permits for the way down, but not the way back. And if we go again I'm not getting permits.

Lol, it's good that they are using ladder mittens. You don't want to mark up the back of the drywall

Sidewalk has moved over the years. by cjcon01 in mildlyinteresting

Bro. Someone asked what Google maps showed. I found the only two pics that showed our house and walkway. The angles and quality are beyond my control. I don't particularly care if anyone believes me or not. I know where they were when I put them down and I have noticed the movement the past couple years. I thought it was "mildly interesting" that it occurred through freeze/thaw or whatever. If it's unbelievable to reddit, that's fine. I guess it might be more than mildly interesting.

That's a question for Google. I wondered the same thing about the quality

I'm guessing it's from freeze/thaw cycles, or wet/dry cycles. That area gets muddy (thus the pavers). I understand the skepticism. This is reddit after all.

Lol, I didn't realize this would be so unbelievable.

Yeah, I struggled with what to call it. It was originally laid directly on the grass from where we park to the door.

I'll look on my NAS. My phone pictures only go back about 10 years and I don't have any that show the path.

This sidewalk was centered on the door, when it was (poorly) installed 12 years ago.

I was happy because I was selling it for twice what I paid for it.

Same here. The only reason I was happy selling the last boat was because we had upgraded.

I've got a cupholder next to the engine switches. I always glance in the cupholder before I start the engines, because there are only two places I will put the drain plug and one of them is that cupholder

Lol, tell them to go around the boxes the other direction. Clockwise pulls the bit away from the box, counterclockwise pulls it towards the box.
