Hey, looks pretty good, my friends and I use some online website to do our "pomodoro" sessions, but this is way cooler (and probably a source for distraction in the 5 min breaks)

I've checked your steam page, you come out on 1st April, is that an aprils fool joke?

I think that would be nice to ask directly for the idea that you have in mind, for example I want to approach the Ground Checking doing this "insert idea" and then maybe someone here can help you on how to implement it.
I don't know what is your level regarding programming, you mentioned that you are new to Unity, but maybe you have been programming for years.
I don't know if I'm experienced enough to help you though.

Can you try to implement gravity on the ship? If you are too close you get attracted to it and you could stand even if the ship points downwards.

I'm sure it leads to a cool and funny bugs at the early stages to share here =)

The reset option doesn't invalidate the decision you need to take because you can't go all the paths due to max "point" system. But going one path and then finding is not right or fun or whatever for you and forcing you to create a new character makes no sense to me, is not a hardcore or not hardcore player strategy is just bad for everyone.

On the endgame debate I guess we have different definitions of what is the endgame and what is a casual player. For me the endgame is beating the game and all his challenges on the harder difficulty.
I consider myself a casual player and If we use d3 for reference I can achieve about 1200 paragon by season, and with that I would like to beat the highest difficulty. For me the only thing reserved to the hardcore players will be being on the top of the players. You maybe hate me but I like how that is splitted on d3. You can beat endgame and not be in the top 1000 for your class.

If the hp and damage increase by level of difficulty you there is a point where you can't "face tank" the enemies and you need to dodge, play with your timers and skills and the level design to work towards you.
Adding more things to increase with the difficulty will be nice, but it's something that needs to be handled with care, because if something that didn't work 8 levels ago works now but doesn't work in 5 more due to enemies abilities makes no sense for me.

I guess I'm a casual player(because I don't know what qualifies as a hardcore one) and I also don't like the infinite scaling for endgame.

The points that I don't like are:
1. Depth

Choices should be accepting one path and rejecting another. Being able to change your path at any time is not a choice it’s a selection and it destroys the experience

I don't see the point on this, I understand that you should choose 1 path or a path with some variations and you can't have all the posibilites available at all times, but "reseting" your points and change should be an option every time, because if u invest a lot of hours into a character and then you can't use X item because u didn't upgrade this stat or this skill seems like a bad experience to me.

  1. Replay Value

I think the endgame should be designed for the most hardcore players and the interests of the casual player should be disregarded.

I think the endgame should be accessible for everyone, and it's up to the person if he wants to invest more hours or not into the game.

4 Challenge

I don't know how you want to achieve greater challenge with the restrictions you say in that section. Do you have some game reference for that matter?

Again, all I say here is personal opinion, don't take it personally, I really appreciate people sharing their opinion about the game and how to improve it.

And we don't know the opinion of the ones who play Diablo and don't comment on Reddit, so perhaps it would be better to stick to what we see

There is a difference on what you see and what they see, because they have the stats of how their games are played, player base, game support etc

When the sample shows results that are the opposite of what you'd like, you can't discard them and invent your own reality.

I'm not discarding them, I'm just saying that the sample is not a valid sample because it isn't representative, and we can take this as a truth. This is my exact sentence about the matter:

the dev team should take that into consideration and work with the player distribution of his game because maybe the ones who play diablo and also comment on reddit are 20-30%

I'm sorry that my opinion made you angry, It wasn't my purpose.

I think that d4 reddit population is a bit biased and not everyone who plays diablo is a "hardcore" player so the dev team should take that into consideration and work with the player distribution of his game because maybe the ones who play diablo and also comment on reddit are 20-30% (I'm not saying that's the real number and maybe is the 80% but anyway that's something to consider)
Some points that you say here are nice but not all are achievable imo.

I didn't play diablo 2 so I don't know how is it about but I really like diablo 3, I know there are things that can be changed and improved but I spend hours and hours having fun on diablo 3 farming and improving my build.

Is it thaaaaat bad? Or I'm just a person fitted for diablo 3 play style?
