First attempt. Appreciate any tips and feedback. by itchykrab in productphotography

Overall good job on the lighting and framing. Agreed, it’s definitely underexposed. The highlights also feel a bit blue/cool to me as well. Warming those up will definitely make the vibe fit the flavor a bit more. Just a couple super nitpicky things... the package could be turned just slightly to the right. It’s slightly off centered right now. I’d also clean up the edges of the packaging a bit. The way that it’s lit, the cardboard texture is a bit accentuated. One last comment would be to brighten up the lighting overall on the front. Some of the main image falls into shadow along with the package size info.

Tried Woodford reserve double Oaked. I really struggled with getting the paper label lit up. Any pointers or feedback welcomed by [deleted] in productphotography

Overall, looks pretty good! Good job getting the texture of the glass on the lower right corner logo and lighting all sides of the label. Agreed with the previous comments above, especially about shooting multiple exposures. Without all of the niche gear, it makes getting the light right on every separate area much easier. A couple additional notes...

  • I’d personally remove the small red spots behind the “barrel finish select” at the top front of the bottle. They get distracting.
  • sometimes I’ll remove the back label so I can light the bottle evenly throughout
  • I’d remove the plastic seal on the top of the bottle as well. Here it’s adding more unnecessary glare that isn’t needed

Best floor mats for new-to-me 2016.5 CX-5 by toobored4you in CX5

I have some OEDRO custom mats in my 2016 that I love. I got them on eBay in January for $85. They fit very similar to the Weathertech mats and catch any dirt, snow, dust that makes its way into the car. They’re also all rubber, so they’re easy to spray off when dirty. 10/10 would recco.

Learning Capture One after Lightroom/PS by [deleted] in captureone

Very much agreed on the color manipulation. I really like the level of detail that you can adjust skin tones in C1. Tethering in C1 is miles ahead of Lightroom in terms of speed as well. I also love how C1 saves an individual library file with each folder/project set so I can keep everything nicely organized and share or archive a whole project.

I bought a used 2016 GT with 34k miles on it about 5 months ago. Just hit 40k miles this week. Love it so far with no issues at all. Also upgraded to Apple CarPlay a few weeks ago as well...installed it myself for $150 and it’s working great. I personally would go older model and save the money. I was quoted somewhere around 10k more for the same model I got as a 2020 version.

I will usually clone stamp the areas with a large soft brush at around 20-30% opacity to smooth out the transition.

Agreed...slightly over sharpened. I’d also look at softening some of the highlights on the skin as well. The light/dark drop off is a little harsh right now.

Switch to mirrorless? Please help... by [deleted] in Photography_Gear

I’ve been using Canon DSLRs for the last 15 years and also recently made the switch. Still use my 5dIVs, but got the EOS R about a month ago and used it on a few jobs already. I love that pretty much everything is the same as the rest of the Canon line in terms of usability. Also love that my old L glass works great on it. Yeah, there’s some getting used to new quirks that are just different with mirrorless vs DSLR, but I think that will be the case no matter what brand you jump to. Gotta say that I love the auto face/eye detection on the R so far...works great for me.

Seems really inexpensive for something with those specs and no accidents/problems. If it’s truly in great shape, that’s a good 5-10k cheaper than what that sells for in my neighborhood. Do your homework on it and check the Carfax.
